Time to return to our origins! Or get lost in them!
The name for the English TCG set that will be release this August has been revealed. This new set will be called “Lost Origin”. There are no real details regarding this set at the time.
We can only guess that “Lost Origin” will be based on the Japanese sets, Lost Abyss.
Set Speculation

Based on the name, we can only guess that this set will focus on Giratina. The name “Lost Origin” could be hinting at the Lost Zone mechanic in the TCG. The Lost Zone mechanic in the TCG was inspired on the Distortion World. If that is the case then one can connect that it will relate to Giratina due to that being it’s domain.
If that is the case then we could see the Lost Zone mechanic return. The last time the Lost Zone was included in the game was back in “Lost Thunder” during the Sun & Moon era. There were some cards interacted with the Lost Zone. Prior to that, the Lost Zone was not used since in introduction in “Platinum” TCG set during the Diamond and Pearl era.
One last idea that could be related to the name of the set and future cards: Origin Forms.
Below are possible spoilers for Legends: Arceus that features forms and Pokemon that was officially revealed by Pokemon. If you are avoiding spoilers then scroll to the end of the article for Release date.
Dialga and Palkia have both received new forms which are their Origin Forms. These Origin Forms are similar in idea to Origin Form Giratina. Perhaps the set is referencing to Origin Forms for Dialga and Palkia that were lost in time. If so then we may see cards based on the Origin Forms for Dialga and Palkia.
Granted, this speculation and idea could be used for May’s English TCG set, “Astral Radiance”. Another set that we have little to no information on.
Release Date

“Lost Origin” will be release on August 26th, 2022.
