Actually, it's not that surprising. The Fae play dirtiest of them all. While still fulfilling their bargains. Basically, Dark Types ignore the rules, but the Fae make them work for them.

It's funny because Dark and Dragon reside in the same country.

Originally there were only factions, but then it worked into a continent of countries. So there shouldn't be a reason for anyone to be bored.

Here's a brief description of each country, but all might not be what you think when you get the full details later:

    Spoiler:

    Flying/Dragon/Dark
This country, which is also mine, has the whole 'land of the dead' reputation with honoring death and having those who mastered the sky and flying mounts.

    Normal/Psychic/Fairy
Opposite to the one I just mentioned, this one honors everything to do with life and is the wizard/mage/school type vibes going on.

    Fire/Water/Electric
Science. Science, and more science - did I mention science? Much science happens and the studying and experimentation of augments and what not.

    Grass/Bug/Ground
A big o' flatish sort of forested country that also happens to be right smack in the middle so a lot of trading and what not goes on here. Sort of like the Skyrim equivalent of Whiterun.

    Rock/Steel/Fighting
A giant fortified city where there are practices of the physical arts, as opposed to studying mental arts. Like art, physical combat, smithing and all that good stuff.

    Ice/Poison/Ghost
This place is really friggin' cold, and has some really funky otherworldly stuff going on. Also the person who has this country under their control wants as much info withheld as possible so that's all you get.

We don't want to be giving too much away before release. p=
Also yes, there will be a map. It will be made. You will see it. At some point.

The alternative: How are you going to con a Fae? If the Dark-Type is a conman who heeds no rules, the Fae is the devil (only not inherently evil in this case). They're going to con the c**p out of you and get way more out of it. There aren't any rules to break-there's no way to subvert the contract you've just made, no Kill-Devil-Hill shenanigans going on or anything. Nothing ANYONE'S got will save your sorry rear from the tail end. Fairy-Type wins.

Or, a third, much less grim alternative: Evil baddie V. Magical Girl. Who wins? Magical Girl. Duh. :P The genre conventions of anime dictate it.

Also, now I'm more intrigued in this RP. Those tiny snippets of detail tell me SOOOO much.

Actually, there's also the pragmatism aspect of Dark Types and their tendency to use their resources. You know, resources a Fae could provide. For a small price of course. And if the Dark Types want more resources, well, who's the Fae to deny them? For a moderate price of course. Oh, and they need more? Well the Fae are always agreeable, as long as you do them more favors.

Before they know it, the Dark Types have found that they've long since imbibed the Kool-Aid, completely unwittingly, and the Fae basically owns them. :)

This is even more hilarious in the context of the most recent Dresden Files book, where the absolutely Dark Typiest person there found out that the Fae Queen's vengeance is very very broad and very very deep. While she was technically fulfilling a debt for /him/.

This. This is the country that jumps out to me most. It sounds awesome and this may have to be my homeland.

Anyone else get a Heroes of Might and Magic feeling from the countries?

    Flying/Dragon/Dark = Chaos
    Normal/Psychic/Fairy = Haven/Life
    Grass/Bug/Ground = Sylvan/Nature
    Fire/Water/Electric = Academy/Order
    Rock/Steel/Fighting = Stronghold/Might
Ice/Poison/Ghost = Dungeon, maybe Necropolis/Death if I'm interpreting things properly

As this is a straight-up fight in which they have an edge, I prefer the Magical Girl V. Badguy comparison a bit more...
