    Raidon Makoto
Hellcat, En Route to AMS Deathwing, Mirage Island
    Hoenn
    Affected RPers: None

"My god, Raidon, I've been trying to reach you for hours. Where the hell have you been?" Tyrus Hale immediately launched into a tirade after picking up Raidon Makoto's call. Makoto was on a Hellcat, bound and determined to make it back home with his newest acquisition and trauma. "You've missed a lot. Norb is dead, first of all."

Makoto was shocked. For Norb Whitehall to just kick the bucket was something he wasn't expecting. He was sure that he would go out kicking, screaming, and clawing at whatever, holding on just barely long enough to irreparably damage it. He assumed that said "whatever" would have been Aqua-related eventually. "It's going to be awkward to work out funding now..."

"Well, what happened was that Norb betrayed us and tried to use the Hoenn army to ambush the Trinity Armada upon its return to Mirage Island. Fortunately, Reg found out about the plan in time and warned us right after putting Whitehall down," the scientist summarized. "Noah has been working in getting us a foothold in Hoenn in the meantime. The 08th managed to take out Frisby as well. The entire Hoenn government is in shambles, quite hilariously."

Once he realized that Aqua would be fine, Makoto grew disinterested in the conversation, "That's great," he mumbled.

"Something up, man?" Hale asked. "I'll fully admit, Yarvick told me Celebi was involved in your disappearance." The dread lord of the Deathwing could only reply with silence. Hale, realizing he may have asked an inappropriate question, blathered, "Though, I mean, if you don't want to talk about it, that's okay... I just wanted to know if you were alright or not..."

"Tiantus, stop," Makoto said, unwilling to listen to him paint a pretty picture of all the scientist's insecurities about their friendship. "You're my best friend. I need to talk to somebody about this." The dictator sighed. "It's true, I was contacted by Celebi at the tail end of the battle. It kept talking about this deterministic fate I was destined to fulfill. I'll admit I was curious, hoping I could perhaps erase Incident 731 from ever happening. I followed the voice and it led me to the Ilex Forest. There, it pulled me out of time and made me fight in some fucked up Thunder Dome against 11 mind-controlled versions of Kasim Lordran from parallel universes..."

"What the hell?" Hale asked, unwilling to believe the story. "What did you do?"

"What could I do? They were all trying to kill me. I had to kill them all. Slayed where they stood. Yet, Celebi, this motherfucker, released their mind-control in just enough time for them to process that they were killed by me. Each one died with the most betrayed look on their face I had ever seen while groaning out something along the lines of "Why, Raidon?" God dammit, Tiantus... I don't know how I'm going to live with myself." Makoto paused, reliving the horror over and over. "When I killed them, Celebi mindraped me. It kept showing me images of Incident 731, of me killing all the versions of my master, of those that died at Goldenrod, and even atrocities from other dimensions. I watched my wife... my wife... from a parallel universe murdered and desecrated by some... thing over and over and over, all while Kasim screamed in my ear, asking my "Why?"" The commander broke down sobbing over the phone. "Man, I didn't even know this girl, but the fuckinging onion fairy managed to graft my feelings from a parallel universe onto her. I watched a lover I never knew... a woman that loved me with all her fucking heart and I loved back violently destroyed. I wanted to reach into that memory and fuck that thing up, but I couldn't, because it was a memory that wasn't even mine."

Hale was speechless. It was quite the heavy story to dump on the scientist. Despite his dual PhDs, emotion was an undiscovered country from whose borne no explorer had returned to tell Hale about. He was entirely clueless when it came to situations like this. The dread lord didn't care though--he just needed to talk to someone. He knew too that Finch Reynolds would probably have much wiser words than Hale once he told his other best friend.

"But I caught it though," Makoto managed a smile through the tears. "I caught the damn thing and I don't even know if I want it any more."

There's a Starman waiting in the sky!
He'd like to come and meet us, but he thinks he'd blow our minds.
There's a Starman waiting in the sky!
He's told us not to blow it 'cause he knows it's all worthwhile.
