My frying pan is now a drying pan!
July is Pokemon Podcast Month. A month where we get to celebrate our favorite Pokemon podcasts.
Pokemon Podcasts have a vast array of hosts. All of them come from various backgrounds and think in different way. The one thing that they all have in common is that they host their podcast as if they are a friend. A friend where you can come to every episode in hopes to have a conversation with them. One where you can enjoy their company for various minutes as you do something from driving, enjoying a meal or just doing something in your everyday life.
Still, as friends you want to get to know them a bit better. So we have taken the chance to ask some of your favorite Pokemon podcasters various of questions. Some of these questions range from podcasting in general to why they simply love Pokemon. Overall, we want to give you a chance to get closer to the friends that you love to listen and talk to every episode.
Today we have the following answering our Pokemon Podcast questionnaire:
Alex, Austin and Jacob from Out of the Drying Pan.
What drew you to the Pokemon franchise?

Alex, Austin and Jacob: It was the hot new thing on playground back in the day. There were cool* designs and a sense of adventure. It featured kids our age having the ability to go out and explore a better, safe version of our world. What kid can resist that?
What inspired you to podcast?

Alex, Austin and Jacob: We had been marathoning anime episodes for a long time and always had a lot to say, between the high camp ridiculousness of it, the progression as an overall narrative, and the focus on transforming monster designs into full-blown characters. We had too much to keep bottled up to ourselves so we wanted to share our love of the series and potentially connect with other people who enjoyed the same media.
What is your thought process when it comes to picking music for your podcast?

Alex, Austin and Jacob: The Pokemon anime and franchise at large has an extensive and often great series of soundtracks. We like to use them where appropriate, using music cues as they appear on the show. 99% of the time, if we are using a soundtrack clip, it was included in the episode we’re discussing.
What keeps you going when it comes to podcasting and Pokemon?

Alex, Austin and Jacob: The hope that listening to an Out of the Drying Pan manages to brighten someone’s day a bit for at least an hour.
When you record your podcast, who do you wish to reach with it?

Alex, Austin and Jacob: Hopefully people who can have a sense of humor about the anime and the franchise as a whole!
What is the hardest part when it comes to podcasting?

Alex, Austin and Jacob: We are podcasting amateurs, so the real hard part is figuring out the logistics of audio problems and scheduling time as a group.
What has been the best Podcast moment you have had?

Alex, Austin and Jacob: Probably when we forget we are recording in the first place, and are just talking amongst friends and riffing with each other.
Huge thank you to Alex, Austin and Jacob for taking the time to answer these questions.
We hope you enjoy this moment with your friend if you are a listener of this podcast. If you are not then how about you take a chance and make a new friend by listening to Out of the Drying Pan.
Make sure to give them a review on Apple Podcasts or your favorite podcatcher! Don’t touch that Totodile! See you all next time!
