Had some unexpected visitors! My dad found two newborn Deerling fawns in a parking lot after helping my cousin move, so he brought them home! I got home late that night from a play, and proceeded to care for them as if they were my own because I loooove animals. I bottle-fed them goat's milk, because all supply stores that sold deer milk formula were closed (let me tell u that goat's milk literally tastes like regular milk dumped on a goat and then collected; it's very foul). They slept under the covers with me in the bed that night, and we took them to a wildlife rehabilitation center the next morning. I miss them. ;__;

They were twins! One girl and the other a boy. <3

I estimated them to be born that day, at most 3 hours before they were found. A mother deer wouldn't leave them for very long (especially in a parking lot), and twins are usually hidden by the mother at a maximum of a few hours after birth. They were together, too, and mother deer always hide twins in separate, thick bushes (as if a predator finds one, they don't find the other), so it can be assumed that they weren't born for very long. Similarly, the remnant of their umbilical cords were still attached, they could not walk well (fawns start to wobble about at 30-60 minutes postpartum), and, when they pooped, their poop was that of newborns (odorless and "mushy"). As for height, they came up to about my knee when they stood up, so maybe a foot tall, give or take. <3
