He really loves Pokemon!
It is Pokemon Podcast Month and we got some exclusive content from your favorite Pokemon podcasters! From GO, TCG, talk, to tabletop and beyond! We have sent out the classic Podcasters Questionnaire to see what your favorite Pokemon podcasters have to say about podcasting!
And today we have….Luke from Luke Loves Pokémon to talk about podcasting and everything in between!
So what does the Luke Loves Pokémon have to say about…
What type of podcast do you have? Why do you make the type of podcast that you make? What drew you to the Pokemon franchise?
Luke: I have a Pokémon-by-Pokémon deep dive podcast looking at lore, inspirations and so on. I made it because I wanted to listen to it, and it didn’t exist at the time!
What inspired you to podcast?
Luke: It was a long time ago, but I think it was just my love of animals, creatures and critters.
What keeps you going when it comes to podcasting and Pokemon?
Luke: I listen to a lot of podcasts and I thought – I can do that!
What kind of feeling do you wish your listeners to have when listening to your podcast?
Luke: I really do love the creatures themselves, every single one, and the thought that goes into subtle elements of their designs. While there are still Pokémon to talk about, with folklore and real-life inspirations, I’ll keep podcasting.
What is the hardest part when it comes to podcasting?
Luke: I want a positivity, a relaxed vibe and hopefully at least one or two moments of learning something new.
What has been the best Podcast moment you have had?
Luke: The hardest part is researching a Pokémon’s origins in real-world animals and folklore without assuming the websites and fans before me found it and got everything right – I try hard to research things myself on top of a cursory look at Bulbapedia and YouTube.
If you can suggest an episode of your podcast to a new listener, which episode would it be? Why?
Luke: I’ve had a couple of cool guests, but what I really love are little messages, or YouTube comments, or Apple reviews from real people who are loving the show.
If you have many favorite Pokemon then by Luke’s logic, you will have plenty of favorite episodes from this podcast. Though, you may find yourself having plenty of favorite episodes if you listen to this podcast.
Luke: My honest answer is “the episode about your favourite Pokémon” but if I have to choose, I think the episode on Gothita was a recent highlight. I didn’t know the origin of the words “gothic” and “goth” before researching that episode, and it was really interesting for me. https://share.transistor.fm/s/9844e95e
