A well loved Pokemon voice actor has passed away.
The voice of many Pokemon characters from the anime, James Carter Cathcart has passed away. It was revealed by his wife on July 10th, 2026 that James had passed away two days prior. This comes from after battling throat cancer since 2023.
You will surely know James Carter Cathcart voice if you ever watched a single episode of the Pokemon anime. After all, he voiced two thirds of the Rocket Trio: James and Meowth. Other characters you would know James Carter Cathcart would be Professor Oak and Gary Oak. James also provided the voice for several different Pokemon.

So we just lost James Carter Cathcart to cancer. He voiced Gary since the beginning of the anime and took over for James and Meowth during the TPCi run, while still keeping his role as Gary.
We essentially lost our two Meowth’s, one half of James and one half of Jessie.
RIP Legend.
