Mark a circle around 13th June on your calendar as the Pokéballerz are hosting their first ever Pokémon charity gaming marathon. We'll be playing Pokémon games for over 100 hours, fundraising for WaterAid, an international charity that transforms lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation.

Our Pokéballerz team consists of team members; Jason Choi, Harry Cuddy, Tim Doran, Fred Wildi, Ben Gibson, Eve Goodman and Tara Cooper who are students of University of York, UK. We previously held a Legend of Zelda gaming marathon for our local charity but this time under a different name, with assistance from the York University Student Union (YUSU), we'll be hosting our private event at the university.

We'll be rotating to play a host of games from the first three Pokémon generations. The event will be streamed live on Twitch TV where viewers will be able to interact with us via Twitch TV chat. For donation incentives, viewers will be able to donate to request for Pokémon to catch and nickname. The six most donated Pokémon at any time will be used by us in our Pokémon party and this will be updated regularly. Other donation requests are also available and donors will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win paintings of Pokémon.

All donations will be processed through JustGiving directly to WaterAid. Personal details will be safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.

Pokéballerz' Pokémon marathon goes live on Thursday 13th June at 8:00pm GMT (3:00pm EDT) and scheduled to conclude after beating our last game. The event can be viewed live on http://www.twitch.tv/jazzychoi1991/new. Please follow our Twitch TV page and follow @pokeballerz on Twitter to keep up to date with all the latest information on our event. See you all then!
