I have a theory I posted on my KH Theory and Head Canon blog that you can read about here. I wrote it rather late at night, as I do most of my things. It's my theory on how Vanitas never was completely eliminated.

Well, today is Theory Thursday, so I figure we may as well do something about that. Do any of you have any theories you wish to share?

I know it's more of a headcanon than a theory, since it hardly effects the future of the series, but I like to think that the World of Chaos is a Heartless that Xehanort cobbled together with the Hearts of the other five apprentices. I doubt a single Heart is dark enough to create that abomination, and it would do a bit more to tie KHI in with the rest of the series. KHI always just felt more like a standalone game than the others to me, even when replaying it after BBS.

KH was made in such a way that it could be a standalone game from the outset. There was no guarantee there'd be a sequel, even the scene bridging to CoM was a "just in case" precaution. So it's natural that it feels somewhat awkward when playing it over a decade later.

As for the origin of WoC, it's puzzling, but your explanation makes it work as well as any.

I've always entertained the notion that Vanitas will return in KHIII, though I haven't put as much thought into it as that. Mainly it's just because of the connection between Roxas and Vanitas via Ventus as well as what you point out in your post, people have a hard time dying in KH. If Vanitas is actually gone at this point he'd be an anomaly. Sometimes the way they talk about the darkness in KH confuses me, but the conclusion that I tend to lean towards is that the opinions of Master Eraqus and Xehanort are wrong, while Riku's mediating approach is right. Darkness is necessary in KH and so I would like to see Vanitas come back and return to Ventus's heart eventually.

Lol, the end to that blog, Sabi. Anyway, I definitely wouldn't be surprised to see Vanitas come back. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if he managed to come back through Sora, or if that's what Xehanort was trying to do when he attempted to make Sora his last vessel since, you know, they have the same face? You could also probably toy with the idea that maybe Roxas, since he displays more negative emotion than Ven or Sora, might actually have been a temporarily complete Ven? I dunno, If I'm making sense at this point. XD I'm sick, and haven't really been thinking straight all day. I do agree with Sanctus inthe feelings that Riku's handling of darkness and light is best--balance is important.

And to add to the theories, one of my personal favorites is in regards to who Namine actually is.

In the case of Namine's identity, we know she's Kairi's Nobody, but much like Sora and Roxas, they don't share the same face. However, unlike Sora and Roxas, it's (at least not to my knowledge) ever really explained why Namine looks so different from Kairi. After a lot of thinking and BBS playing, my favorite theory regarding Namine's identity is that she's at least part of Aqua's protection spell in human form. Aside from the fact that there is no one thus far in KH that's been revealed to look exactly like Namine, there are only a handful of revealed interactions that might have influenced Namine's creation, and I feel the largest is Aqua's protection spell. From there, unless I'm mistaken, Namine was found inside Castle Oblivion, which is Aqua's territory. If she didn't have some tie to the place, how/why did she end up there? Then there's the fact that she has freaky powers over Sora's memories. While I've seen this attributed to her being created from both Sora and Kairi, it's also noted as being highly unusual, and might also tie into the fact she may have originated from magic that was meant to give Kairi a protector. Despite the fact the Organization fully intended to use Namine's powers to turn Sora into their pawn, she managed to develop morals (and who knows where she got those, as she had no memories and didn't exactly have the best teachers) and use those same powers to put Sora on the path back to Kairi. As a minor not as well, I want to say that spell turned Kairi's charm white...what is Namine's signature color?

I really dig the Dusk and the oranges panels. Once upon a time I had a photobucket account named Thegoldfishthatdied inspired in part by TWTNW -- I find it an amusing name to play on.

And now, it is Wednes(KH3comingout)day once again, and I'm asking this in part because I think you all could educate me on this. Of course the Disney worlds in KH follow the plots of the movie from which they're cast. We've already seen certain worlds multiple times. So my question is, what worlds do you expect to see make a return in KHIII (so we're not talking about newcomers which we've already discussed) and how do you suspect they'll be done?

Two worlds I'm particularly interested in are Olympus and Beast's Castle. Do you guys think it's possible to see Beast's Castle again? What's gonna go on in Olympus since we've already seen Rock Titan in it?

Everyone talks about Disney Worlds and you know what I wanna see next in KH3? Shibuya.

TWEWY Shibuya. Ever since Neku said 'See you in Shibuya.' that's all I want. Nomura you have one job.

I want to see all the dorks interacting again. Everything worked so well in 3D that I need it. Considering the amount of detail they put into Traverse Town, I was so stupidly happy I couldn't believe it. Even all the VA's came back from TWEWY [except Rhyme because wtf Kate Higgins] and reprised their roles. My inner fangirl screamed happiness.

I mean just look at these dorks:

I NEED THIS NOMURA. I want to see the Noise in 3D. Make the Taboo Noise actually fusions of Heartless and Noise. Noise can be related to the Unversed, and since it seems Vanitas is coming back, it works. I want to beat up the ever living crap out of Sho again in glorious HD. I want to see Mr. Hanekoma and Shiki turning to normal and everyone going WTF. I want inerference ith the Reaper's Game. COME ON NOMURA DON'T LET ME DOWN.

I must confess I didn't complete TWEWY. It was really fun, but that was just an odd time in my life. Nevertheless I really liked seeing them in 3D and I too hope they come back in KH3.
