Rocky allowed Brandon to go shopping and intel gathering with him. They set out and soon ended up in sort of pokemart, Brandon noticed a clothes rack and went over to sift through the clothes, he noticed a dark green t-shirt and a black hoodie on the rack, he pulled them off, next he found a pair of black sweat pants on the rack and he pulled those off as well. As Brandon headed to the register to pay, he also noticed some fake tattoos hanging in a special display mount on the wall. Brandon took 4 of them and then made his way over to the register to pay. As he paid for the items, he asked the cashier "Have you ever battled Surge? I heard ground types may be the way to go for his gym." , the cashier chuckled as he counted the money and handed Brandon his change, the cashier then replied with "yes sir, ground types are most effective against Lt. Surge alright, but Mr. Surge is very smart and made a house rule that makes it so you can only have two of them, smart guy that Lt. Surge is" with that the cashier stopped talking and headed into the backroom. Brandon found the bathroom and changed into his new clothes. He also got a wet paper towel and put on 2 of the fake tattoos. Then he put the other 2 fake tattoos into his bag for future use. He also put his old clothes in a mailout bag and put them in his pack for the time being, his plan was to mail his old clothes out to his Mom in Sinnoh for safekeeping until this whole ordeal was over. Brandon then met up with Rocky outside, he had only just reached him when both of their poketchs went off and Meg said something about their healed pokemon not getting here in foreseeable future. Directly following the message Rocky muttered "What the..." and began to run full speed towards the pokemon center, Brandon ran full speed to try keep up with him, luckily Rocky's big size made his top speed just slow enough for Brandon to keep him in sight. Soon they both entered the pokemon center to find out what was going on. After he entered, Brando n stopped to catch his breath and then try to find out what was going on.

Soon the group headed out for the gym, they arrived only to find it swarming with agents. After a few minutes they seem to find out that Surge was now in the same boat as them all, a fugitive. Brandon was shocked, he wouldn't hold against the guy to do such a thing, what he just couldn't understand was motive. Why would a gym leader, with already very powerful pokemon, want to steal pokemon? He just couldn't understand. Brandon followed quietly as the group fell back, it wasn't his worry anyway, with this many agents they would find out what surge had done and then find him as well. Meghan made a short pep talk saying they should stay low profile and probably get out of here. After her pep talk she left them and disappeared into the crowd of people in the city. Alice suggested they move on to Lavender town and come back for everyone else's pokemon later. Brandon couldn't argee more, Brandon took a deep breath and then said "I agree, we should get going, remmeber we only have two days before these computers are finished being set up, that means we need to be out of here and into Lavender town before they are. Meghan is right, it is going to be atleast a few days before Surge even considers coming out of hiding, we don't have time to wait it out. Let's sneak out of here now while all the agents are busy at Surge's gym and begin heading to Lavender town. We should try to be as stealthy as possible along the way, however, if we run into any trouble that we can' sneak our way out of, I will help fight us out of it, of us all, I think my team was the least injuried from Cerulean and most my current team still has some form battle expereince and they all are pretty strong, but I reckon with some stealth and creative tactics, we can make it to Lavender town with conflict, but we have to leave NOW if we are to have any chance of making it to Lavender town".

The group began to move and very soon had made it to route 11. They had made it out without any conflict so far, he hoped it would remain that way. Seconds later though he realized he had thought too soon as they startled a group of wild Rattas. They began to attack the group, as one of the rat pokemon bared its teeth and growled at him. Brandon couldn't help but almost chuckle, he reached for Riolu's pokeball and then pressed the button. As the light from the ball flashed and Riolu was being released, Brandon said loudly "Riolu, I choose you!".

A second later Riolu was out of his ball and looked as around, when he saw the Ratta he growled and made a combat ready motion. Then the hyper little Ratta let out a screech and began running full speed at Riolu, he made a chopping motion, of which made it clear his move was going to be bite. Brandon shouted to Riolu "Watch the bite buddy". Riolu already seemed to know it was going to be bite as well. As the Ratta leaped and for the bite, Riolu held out one arm in a blocking motion, the Ratta was already in the air and had no way to counteract, as he got close to Riolu, Riolu swung his other arm at the Ratta, the Ratta came flying at Riolu's 1 arm and was knocked to the ground by Riolu's follow up swing. As the Ratta hit the ground head first, it weakly tried to stand back up, but was too weak and the effort of trying to do so made it faint. Riolu's 1 arm had suffered a couple minor scratches from where a couple teeth from the Ratta scraped him, but other then that, he was fine.

Brandon praised Riolu on a job well day, then he pressed the button on Riolu's pokeball once more, as the beam of bright light flashed and Riolu began to fade, Brandon said loudly "Riolu good job, come back and rest now, RETURN!".

After the encounter with the Rattas, the group continued down the path until they were stopped by a workman who was helping to repair power lines. Alice and Rocky did the talking, while Brandon silently hung back observing, one hand clutched to a pokeball on his belt, just in case. The encounter ended without incident though and the group prepared to continue on.

As the group continued moving down the route, they came upon a group of pokemon crowded around a man. Without seconds of them first spotting it, Alice took off running, Brandon was a little confused but just shrugged it off. The group kept going, until the group of pokemon, who were psychics rushed over to Rose. Brandon's hand automatically went to Skipper's pokeball and without even thinking, Brandon pressed the button and released Skipper. The Charmeleon blinked and looked around, noticing the Drowzee around Rose, Skipper stared at the Drowzee confused, scratching his head and letting out a soft "Charrrmelleeonn???" as he tried to figure out what the pokemon were gathered around Rose for and trying to decide whether he should step in and try and get the Drowzees' to back off or whether to just stand by in case they got aggressive. Before he could decide, the man that the Drowzees' had been gathered around came running after the group and then trying to plead for his pokemon to re join him and to allow him to remain their trainer. Seconds later the leader of the group of Drowzees' made some hand movements and then suddenly the man became like zombie as the Drowzees' used him to speak with the group.

Brandon's thoughts immediatelly flashed back to the special Mr. Mime he had met before the Cerulean incidents that had warned him of the events to come. That Mr. Mime had done something similar to him for a second to prove his special power. Brandon probably knew better then the rest of the group, except Rose, that what they were seeing was very possible and that the Drowzees' they were seeing were very powerful and very Special Drowzees' . Brandon stood there watching as the Drowzees' spoke, hoping the rest of the group would accept the pokemon to come along with them, such powerful pokemon might come in handy. Who knows, maybe if they ran into trouble, they could just hypotonize a guard or solider into letting them go. It was an evilish thought, Brandon knew, but these pokemon were certainly capable of achieving something like that and they really could come in handy. Brandon was going to make sure the Drowzees' could along, even if he had convince each person in the group indivually personally.

Brandon listened to the conversation between Rocky and Rose, Rocky seemed (understandibly and justifiably) weary of accepting them and ask for Rose's thoughts, Rose seemed to be ok with them joining them. After Rose finished Brandon spoke up to give his support of the Drowzees' "I say we let them join us, they do seem friendly and definitelly are very powerful pokemon.." he paused and turned to Rocky before continuing "Rocky, your weariness is completely justified, however, I don't think there is anything even these powerful psychics can do to us that we haven't already been through. I mean in Cerulean we very nearly had our souls ripped out of us by that 'shadow figure person', that has the worst possible thing that anyone or anything can do to us, only other worst thing is being killed, but we won't be feeling that pain for very long in that instance. That said, I say we should let them come with us, they are very powerful and special pokemon and they could of real help to us if we run into any trouble on the way to or out of Lavender City.... And who knows, maybe they can even help us track down Surge when we return to Vermillion. For me personally , the potential benefits out way the negative risks at thid point. I personally let them come and would strongly beg the rest of you to atleast consider allowing them yourselves."

Rose made the decision to allow them to come. When the pokemon released the man he tried to get the group or Rocky to turn against the pokemon, while the man seemed to be very good at acting, Brandon could tell the signs of a lier, he could see the fact deep in the man's eyes, Brandon had seen plenty of bullies from his school in Sinnoh use their acting abilities to lie and deny their bullying. Since then, Brandon could tell a lier a mile away. He screamed out to Rocky "Don't listen to him Rocky, he's lying, he knows he has lost his pokemon and so whats us to turn against them because he is no longer their trainer".
