"I agree," Kyo said. "Brandon is right. I don't doubt Meghan's abilities but I think it would be best if we tried to find her. It would definitely give me some peace of mind. Plus, if she actually did need help, we could be there to aid her in whatever her endeavors might be." Kyo would understand if no one else really agreed. Worse case, Kyo would just go out on her own. Kiara and Meghan headed north. The pathway north was a very easy pathway. The plains of sweeping grass had been trimmed so they could easily see over the grass. Before reaching the entance to the forest they encountered a group of little psychic types.

Meghan paused with a smile
"Natu!" She smiled

"I would recognize you anywhere!" She said with a smile

"Kiara these little guys are tough, if you dont have you might consider trying to catch one. They grow into a powerful psychic type!" She said turning to Noibat

" I Suppose now is as good of time as any to see what you got!" Meghan smiled

Noibat hadnt ever battle. The nervous spokemon stood there shocked by the request.

"Noooooiii" It said shaking its head in fear

Meghan bent over picking up the little bat.
" Dont be scared. I wouldnt force you into a battle. How about this time we just watch. Im sure bubbles wont mind jumping in."

Bubbles nodded.
"Forg"

Meghan held the timid little pokemon in her arms while she called out the moves.

"Alright then lets start with a smoke screen followed up with a quick attack!" She commaned.

The Natu felt the trainers coming and some took off. The ones that stayed looked ready to battle. However as the smokescreen set in the little pokemon didnt know where the attack was comgin from. In the cloud of smoke the bird type could see the Frogadier heading right for it. Before it knew it Frogadier tackled the little pokemon sending it flying.

"Give me another quick attack and a lick." Meghan called out keeping Bubbles moving fast.

" Do not slow down bubbles those pokemon know psychic moves!" She said in confrimation

Bubbles continued to move until it got close enough for a lick. The little bird type couldnt avoid this move and rolled over unable to move. Meghan stepped into the now clearing smoke and pulled out a great ball.

As far as Rose was concerned, not finding Meghan right away wasn't even an option. "I think that it's important that we find Meghan. The last time we split up... Well... It didn't go very well" Rose said, not exactly sure who knew how much about what had happened. What was certain was that once the whole group was together, there was going to be some major discussion about what had happened.

Rose's attention turned to Paul. She hadn't introduced herself to him. She thought that it might be a good idea to do so now that she was feeling slightly better, but didn't say anything. Kyo had joined them under unique circumstances, having encountered Dredd alongside Meghan, but she didn't particularly like the idea of someone who had no involvement with Dredd or their current situation with them.

"I agree with all of you! We definitely need to find Meg!" he said to the others. "But lets not forget our mission here. Officer mills asked us to find the missing Pokemon. Yes Brandon, I know you don't like Officer Mills, but he seemed a decent fellow, and I think we should do our best to complete his task. As Rocky took off Stacy called to him

With that said it was time to go and Alice took charge and headed north. She lead the team with through the grassy fields unaware that with each step they were getting closer and closer to where Kiara and Meghan had past through. As they walked they picked up traces of a battle. There was a clearing in the field where fire had burned a path of grass.

Stacy stopped.
" Check it out." she said bending over.

"It looks like there was a battle here." She said bending over.

" At least it looks like what my old teacher would say was a red flag. Must have been a big fire move." She said looking around the edge.

Ty walked around the edge.
" picking up some of the grass." He paused for a moment.

"Dad would tell us to look for other signs of pokemon Stacy." The young wanna be ranger looked around hoping he could see something that gave them a clue to help prove what his sister theory.

When he pulled up a green feather.
"Here!" He said excitedly

He paused
"What do you think..?" He said pulling out a rangers scout guide. Flipping through the pages he looked through different feathers holding it up to the book.

"Natu!" He said after a moment.

Ty reached for his belt calling out a dog type.

"Skully can you help us find the Natu and Meghan?" he said hoping this would help.

Stacy smiled
"See I told you all the scott trainer would help. Thats a really good idea." Stacy looked at the others

"Maybe if you have pokemon with good senses of smell we can pick up Meghans trail."

The team continued behind Alice and the pokemon heading right towards the northern forest.

Rocky headed back to catch up with Reese.

"Sure man, but Im not really sorting through the pokeballs. They are doing almost exculsively at the Pokemon Center. The PC keeps trainer records for this kind of stuff to help track pokemon ID numbers back to the trainers. " Reese said.

As they reached the station they found it to be almost empty. The officer at the desk smiled

"Welcome back Reese. Thanks for all of your help out there." the man smiled

He looked at Rocky
"Welcome back young man, I hope you were able to get some sleep at this place."

Reese walked up to the counter.

"Whats the good my man?" He smiled walking over and leaning on the counter.

" Any word on the Lt. Surge stuff?"

The cop shook his head.
"No...sadly they think it might have just been a false sighting or something." He sighed

"But its not confirmed."

Reese nodded his head
" Well keep me updated. Rocky here has volunteered to help with the clean up."

The cop nodded
"Oh if you are up for it. We did receive word of another boat hanging around the wreckage. I know you said you dont like getting involved with direct confrontation if you dont have too but you would be helping us out to at least check it out. Proably just tourists hanging out or something." The cop said a little distracted

" Jack." Reese said

" Dont hold back man. The Surge thing, how bad is it? They bring those shields to help protect themselves from his electric attack?"

Officer Jack shook his head
"Nah, the stubborn fools. I just got a bad feeling that all of this is some kind of set up. We got reports last night a boat arrived here hours before the ship wreckage. If Surge had anything to do with the S.S Ann who knows what he is up and what he has planned. If he could do that to Vermillion imagine what he could do to Gem.." He sighed

Gem Island had a much smaller police force.

"Plus with all the missing pokemon, the very rare gem that is now being held in our museum and the pokemon center filled with strangers who may or may not been apart of the reason that ship wrecked its just a lot."

He took a drink of water..
" Plus..there is that psycho guy that they say destroyed a city on his own. I heard a news report that two bodies were found inside a collapsed factory. The only witness to it said a man dressed like a ninja in assault armor came out of it. They said the guy kept screaming the word Dredd over and over and over before finally slipping into a comma. How the hell do we face something like that."

Reese frowned
" Kanto has dealt with a lot in the last couple of years. From the tragedy Viridian Forest and the black Rockets unleashing the genetic pokemon who I wont dear speak the name of." Reese said anger rising in his normally calm voice.

"We dealt with a lot. Whomever this guy is he will get whats coming to him. Even if it has to be from that so called champion, Max." Reese said now giveaway a bit of honesty

Alice was tired of walking but she kept going, staying quiet. Since Meg left, she had found herself leading the group more often, and while she enjoyed it at first, it was beginning to wear her down a bit. She would be glad to find Meg again and let her take over. At least for a little while... Alice felt like the group was less cheerful with Rocky gone off with Reese. She hadn't realised how much she would miss having him around. Alice mulled over the events on the ship as they walked, letting Ty's Houndour lead them. She loved dog Pokemon, but they didn't seem to be very common. Her thoughts drifted and she yawned slightly.

Soon they got to a clearing and a few Natu were scattered around. The small round birds seemed quite peaceful. Paprika jumped from Alice's shoulder and tried to sneak up on them, but they seemed to sense her somehow and hopped away from the cheeky mouse.

"Chu!" Paprika said, sniffing the air. She tilted her head slightly, her ears twitching as if she was listening hard. After a moment she shook her head and ran back to Alice.

"Everything okay?" Alice asked, kneeling down.

"Chaa!" Paprika replied, seemingly unconcerned. Alice wasn't sure what had happened but maybe it was a false alarm. She knew the journey so far had been tough on her Pokemon as well. She hadn't gotten to spend as much time just getting to know them and having fun as she would have liked.

On a whim, Alice scooped up the Pikachu and threw her in the air. Paprika let out a surprised "Chu?!" before giggling loudly and landing back in Alice's arms. She used to love playing this game as a child. On the rare occasions that her father was home, she would beg him to throw her into the air. After the first moment of surprise, it felt like flying.

"Let's catch a Natu," Alice said to the Pikachu. Then she threw the Electric type toward the group of birds. "Thunderbolt!"

"Chuuu!" Paprika cried, a small grin still on her face. Her attack missed one of the birds by inches. The Natu hopped away from the rest of the group, and Paprika, now on the ground, stalked closer.

The Natu seemed to sense it was in trouble and began trying to escape, but Paprika was too fast. "Quick Attack! Cut it off!" Alice called out.

Paprika dashed forward, forcing the bird away from the safety of the forest and back toward the middle of the clearing. Knowing it was cornered now, the Natu's eyes began to glow.

"Chaa!" Paprika cried uncomfortably as her whole body began to turn blue. Paprika looked around, seemingly at things that weren't there, her eyes darting back and forth, up and down. The Confusion attack was taking hold.

"Thunderbolt!" Alice cried again. Paprika could still hear, it seemed, and she shot electricity from her cheeks, but the attack was way off the mark, hitting a nearby log and splintering it into fragments. Alice's eyes widened. The log could easily have been her or one of the other trainers. This battle was too dangerous to continue. She returned Paprika for a rest and sent out Plume.

"We need to be quick now, little one," Alice said, kneeling next to the Archen. The Natu looked around angrily, wondering where its opponent had escaped to.

"Hit it with Rock Throw!"

"Aaack!" Plume squawked, flapping her wings wildly. The ancient fossil power coursed through her veins and into the earth, sending rocks flying at the Psychic bird. The Natu was hit badly by a flurry of stones. Alice took the opportunity to fling a Pokeball.

Alice pocketed the captured Natu and held out an arm for Plume to clamber on to. She scratched the little Pokemon between the wings where she liked it best.

Alice noticed Stacy watching her. She felt a bit self conscious now that she knew Stacy was such a strong trainer and a gym leader in training as well.

"Your Pikachu is strong but if I may suggest something you need to trainer her to use her electric attacks in a more controlled way. I had that problem with Feraligatr it took awhile to get him to learn how to how off on using his full strength in battles." Stacy suggested.

"Thanks for the advice," Alice replied. She wasn't good at taking criticism but did her best not to show it. If she wanted to be a good trainer she would need to learn from other trainers too. "We haven't had much chance to get training in," she said. "It's been a crazy journey so far," she grinned, unsure how much Stacy knew about what they'd been through. "How long have you been a trainer for?" she asked. "Your Pokemon are so strong!"

Rocky listened to Reese and Jack talk about the weird stuff that had been happening in the region. He had experienenced a lot of what they they were talking about. He eventually worked out that they were talking about things that they had heard about, while he had actually lived through.

"Do either of you have a powerful Psychic type who can tell if someone is telling the truth?" he asked.

They looked at him slightly confused by the question.

"It's just that you are not going to believe the stories that I am about to tell you. But I swear that they are completely true."

Rocky took a deep breath and then unloaded all the stresses that the journey had piled upon him.

"First off, I was at Vermillion when Surge attacked. He had more Pokemon than I could count, and he attacked the general Populace with with exploding Pokemon. I saved a bus of elderly folk from a pack of living bombs. Trust me, if there is a chance that Surge and his crew are anywhere near here, you want to get those electric-protection shields to your men as soon as possible. He is a thug and a thief. I was actually tracking a shipment of lost Pokemon that he had sent to the islands. That is why I was on the Anne"

"If you have any electric shields spare. I am not too proud to take one."

"Secondly, as I said, I was on the Anne when it went down. There were three men, one of whom claimed to be a psychic master form the elite 4, and one who claimed to be a gym leader... although could have simply been making stuff up, to make themselves sound more imposing. They stole something they called a psychic gem and used it to cause havok on the ship. I don't know if that has anything to do with this 'rare gem' in your museum, but a little extra security could be advisable."

Last. Please listen to this even if you think the rest is just some delusion due to to exposure. 'Dredd' is real. I have seen him twice. Once on the ship, and once in Cerulean. I was there when Cerulean burned. I faced Dredd. He did not just wipe out my team. He infected them with whatever foul energy was controlling him. The army flew in and evac'ed us to safety, or else none of us woudl have lived through that day."

"Don't rely too much on Max saving us. The current feeling in the group is that Dredd is Max. Max corrupted and controlled by some vile power. If he comes you will need to either rally every trainer on this island. Even then it may not be enough. Evacuating the entire island may be your only chance."

Rocky felt relieved at having unburdened all of this knowledge to someone in authority. He didn't want to go out and face all these criminals. That is what you hired police for.

"I know it all sounds too horrible to be true but please believe that Surge is a real threat. Your museum could be a target, and most important that this 'Dredd', needs to be taken very seriously."

"I could go and check out that boat near the wreckage if you want." Rocky offered. "An electric shield would be nice if you have one spare."
