As Brandon and his pokemon were heading back to Logan, he met up with Rocky who seemed to want to pick up the pace a bit, so they did. Within a couple minutes they came across Rose and her team as well. At this point Brandon decided to make conversation and said to both Rocky and Rose "So, how did you guys make out? You find your stones?". Brandon was still holding his in his hand waved it at them to show he had got his, then he put his hands back to his sides and waited for them to respond.

*sorry about the confusing post I last posted, I had only seen Max's reply from the previous page and didn't know there had been other posts, I apologize for any confusion it may have caused.*

As they walked, Brandon learned that Rocky and Alice had run across some shadow pokemon. He knew that wasn't good. He hoped the pokemon involved would get better quicker then the first time when they got sick from those things. Suddenly, as they were walking in the tall grass, Brandon's mind distracted by the thoughts of Rocky's probably sick pokemon, Brandon heard Skipper let out a low growl, followed by a rustling noise. Brandon snapped back to reality and thats when he noticed the grass type that stood before them, however, the pokemon didn't seem to be threatening them in anyway and didnt seem to wish to harm them, which was unusual for a wild pokemon. Moments later he heard Logan's voice and knew the pokemon must belong to him. Brandon told Skipper to stand down "Skipper, it's ok, it is a friend, stand down buddy" to which Skipper stopped growling at the pokemon, but still kept a close eye on the pokemon, being the type of pokemon that didnt want to take any chances. Soon Logan appeared and told them there was a pokemon center somewhat nearby and had one of his pokemon take Alice there, with both her and Rocky's sick pokemon to the pokemon center. Once the pokemon and Alice had dis appeared, Rocky and a couple others pushed for them to hurry up and try get to the pokemon center as fast possible. The group did their best, but with it being so dark it was a task just trying not to get lost, Brandon didn't think they would be able to find the pokemon center in this darkness and was about to suggest they find a place to set up camp, when suddenly Brandon noticed something move out of the corner of his, Skipper also noticed and let out a threatening growl in the direction of the movement, Skipper then had Brandon's team tighten their defensive formation around him.

Within moments Brandon noticed a Misdreavous and a Duskull . Rocky and his pokemon took the misdreavous.

Brandon thought possibly a Duskull might be cool to have and decided to try and catch it.

Brandon gave an order to Marshtomp to weaken it a bit, but warned not to take it completely out, "Marshtomp, I want you to attack and weaken that Duskull, but DO NOT make it faint completely, I want to catch it. So please, just weaken it, but do not take it out completely. understand?" , Marshtomp nodded and proceeded to shoot a small spout of water at the duskull using water gun.

As soon as Brandon thought it was weak enough, he called out "Enough" to Marshtomp, who promptly stopped attacking it. Brandon then threw a pokeball at it.

*Wow so much has happened since my last post! Two whole pages! I apologize for my lack of posting this week, I have had the worst cold starting Sunday until about yesterday, so I had been resting alot and thats why I havent been on in a few days. I apologize about my inactivity. I did my best to read up and try to catch up on whats currently going on in the story before I posted, but if I missed anything and thus am a bit dis oriented at all through out the post. I apologize in advance.*

The group walked for a couple more minutes, before Rose spoke up and suggested they camp out for the night. Brandon couldn't agree more, he felt there was no way they would find the pokemon center without getting lost in this darkness. He voiced his agreement and luckily the majority of the group agreed. The group set up camp and began fall asleep. Brandon rummaged in his pack and pulled out a couple blankets, he put 2 on the ground to act as a makeshift bed, he rolled the other one he had up and used it as a pillow. For warmth, Brandon had his pokemon sleep in a tight circle around him.

Skipper arranged a sleeping pattern so that there was always atleast 1 pokemon awake at all times in case they were ambushed or something and they could react quickly in defense. Skipper agreed to take the first shift and while he kept watch, he kept the flame on his tail as big as he could so he could provide some warmth for Brandon and the other pokemon. After eating a granola bar and drinking a couple sips of water, Brandon settled down into his makeshift bed. He was alseep within a few minutes.

The group awoke about 8:30 am in the morning. As Brandon packed up his stuff and ate another granola bar, he noticed an icon was flashing on his poketch. He tapped the icon and a video message from Alice played. She had met up with Meghan and they were at the pokemon center, Rocky's pokemon was fine and ready to be picked up. It also appeared that Alice and them were setting out to meet someone and that they would be back.

After the group had packed up and Brandon had taken another couple sips of water, the group set out for the pokemon center.

They arrived by about 9 am in the morning. It was then decided that the group should send their time at the pokemon doing their own things. Brandon decided to just sit outside the pokemon center with his pokemon and just relax and enjoy the view. Brandon let out all of his pokemon and told them they could play if they pleased. They all seemed very happy to hear this and proceeded to chase each other around and play fight. All except Skipper of course, the now big, serious minded pokemon just sat on the ground by the bench next to Brandon and watched. Brandon wanted to know why Skipper felt he couldn't played with the rest. He knew Skipper was serious minded, that is why he made him lead pokemon of his team, and that he was deeply respected by all the other pokemon and of course like any good leader, Skipper cared his image. It still did not explain why he wouldn't just play with the rest of the team. He spoke up and talked with the pokemon "Skipper, why don't you play with the others? They won't mind and they won't look at you any differently for playing. We are having down time, we are at a pokemon center, it is safe, no one or nothing is going to attack us here, we're safe and even if something did you would be within 10 yards of me and could swiftly react still. There is nothing wrong with playing and having fun Skipper, you have earned the right to play and have fun. Now I am not going to make you play of course, that is up to you, I just want to understand why."

At this Skipper turned his head to look at Brandon and gave him that serious minded look that he always has. He also said "Char Charrr Zard Zard Zard Charrii Zard Zard". It may seem crazy, but after all the time Brandon had spent his team, he actually understood what the pokemon said. He had said "I don't play, because in this dangerous world, it would be my luck that as I am playing with the others, something bad might happen to you and if it were and I didn't react in time to stop whatever it was and save you, I could never live myself. You are my life, I love you and while I know you and the other pokemon would not think any different of me for playing, I do not want to take that chance. That one chance that if while I was playing something happened to you and I didnt notice or react in time to save you, I just would not be able to live with myself. That is why I choose not to play. Maybe I am over worrying or simply too serious of a pokemon, but none the less, that is why I don't play" .

The 'words' touched Brandon deeply and caused a couple tears to roll down his cheek. He got up off the bench and gave him the pokemon a big hug. As he did so, he told the pokemon "I love you too Skipper, I love all of you. Don't ever forget that".

Then Brandon let go, wiped the tears away. Reached into his pack and took out a couple strips of beef jerky and handed a couple to Skipper for him to eat, ate one himself and as he sat there on the bench eating and watching his pokemon play. He realized just how lucky he was to be on such an adventure with such wonderful pokemon. He also realized just how precious and beatiful life was. He was glad to be able to spend his life with such wonderful pokemon and wonderful people.

As Brandon and Skipper watched the other pokemon play, Brandon began to get hungry and starting rummaging through his pack to find some of the beef jerky he had stowed away with granola bars and other small food and snack items. Right as he found them and pulled the bag of jerky out of his pack, he caught the corner of his journal. He had not written in it in awhile, he pulled the journal out of his pack with jerky and began to read through the entries. The entries really made him see just how far he, his pokemon and the group had come in such a short time. While much had happened on their relatively small journey so far, they all had still perserved and all formed a wonderful bond with their pokemon and that was the most precious thing of all. As Brandon finished reading the last entry in the journal, he took a bite of a piece of jerky and took another sip of water. Once Brandon finished reading the entries in the journal, he put the journal and the bag of beef jerky back in his pack. He reached into the key items section of his pack, where he kept his trainer card, map, pokedex and other esstential items and pulled out his trainer card and the map.

As Brandon looked over his trainer card, he felt badges clipped on the back of it, they had a full 3 gym badges already. That was amazing, really amazing. Brandon turned to Skipper who was half scanning the area and half watching the pokemon playing and said "Skipper? Do you think we could make it past the elite 4 and become the champion someday? Be just like how Max?" Skipper turned to his trainer and gave a confident nod. "Yeah I think we can too buddy". Brandon put the trainer card back and looked at the map he had, he opened it up, saying as he did so "We should probably start trying to find the others, its been almost a whole night and morning and still no sign of them. I wonder if this island is on this map. Brandon scanned the map closely and managed to find the island on the map. But it was too small to see much detail on. Brandon then looked at his poketch and started fiddling with it, saying to himself as he did so "Surely there must be a map app in this thing somewhere". Finally after fiddling with it for a few seconds, he found a map app and clicked on the icon. A map of the region pulled up similar to the paper one. He found the small island on the poketch map and tapped on it very carefully. The map zoomed into the island showing it in greater detail. As Brandon scanned the app he thought to himself "Now if I was Alice and Meghan, where would I head to from here?" Brandon noticed a pokemon daycare about 10 to 15 minutes from the pokemon center. Brandon figured it would be worth checking out. He told Skipper "In about 20 minutes we are going to pack up and head for the pokemon daycare. With a little luck, maybe we will find the others". Skipper nodded and was about to stand up to go round up the other pokemon to let them know, but Brandon stopped him "Let them play a little longer, they have earned themselves a little fun, down time. Like I said, in about 20 minutes or so we will go. Ok buddy?" Skipper nodded and as they continued to watch the pokemon play, Brandon started to pack up and get ready to go. He figured out how to mark the daycare on the map as their destination, which highlighted the path they should follow to get there. He was all ready to go for when they left, in the meantime, he continued to relax and watch his pokemon play.

After about 20 minutes it was time to go find the others. Brandon took 1 long sip from his water bottle, then put it back in his pack, put the pack on his back and stood up. He told skipper it was time to go. Skipper stood up, nodded and went to go inform the other pokemon. Within a couple minutes, Skipper had got Brandon's pokemon into defensive formation. Then they set out, Brandon looking at his poketch, making sure to follow the route it would take precisely. About 10 to 15 minutes later, Brandon saw the daycare, and began to walk toward it. As he walked up to the building, he saw Rocky and a couple others from the group. Rocky greeted him and asked him something, but Brandon was distracted by his poketch, trying to return it to the main screen. He didn't really hear what Rocky said. Brandon replied with a simple "Hey guys" and proceeded to walk up to Rocky and the others.

After a bit Meghan spoke up and said it was time to head back and meet the others. They did so and came across the rest of the group at the pokemon center. After short bit of catching up, the group decided it was time to return to the mainland and began to head out towards the docks where a ship awaited them. As they began to board, the group said their farewell to Logan, who mentioned something about using the mega stones to mega evolve was more then just using the stone but didnt have time to explain further as he had to finish a video or something. As this was happening, Brandon just stood and prepared to board the ship with the group. It seemed this was it, small break was over, it was time to go and see what chaos lay ahead in one island. For better or for worse, it was time to finish what they started.

*I apologize for the somewhat rushed post, I have to go to work soon, but I wanted to get in a response to catch Brandon up as I noticed things are moving quickly again in the story. :)*

Once everyone was on the research boat, it set off out to sea. Within a couple hours, they could finally see the coast line of one island, it was not a good sight at all. Big huge coast guard and navy ships appeared to be anchored on the coast of it. Whatever was going on still on the island, it did not look good. Suddenly a boat with flashing red and blue lights pulled up along the boat and forced it to stop. Great, Brandon thought, just what they needed, a run in with the authorities. Brandon quickly put his hood up on his hoodie and called his pokemon back to their pokeballs. Trying his hardest make sure he wasnt recoginized. The commanders of the police boat, which turned out to be national guard, boarded and asked the captain why he was going towards one island. The captain explained that he was dropping them off on one island. The national guard solider told them no one was allowed back to the island, but there was a cargo boat to Lavender town if they wanted to get a ride on that. While the group decided this, Rocky asked the sailor about the 'shadow attack' and what happened on the island. Brandon wanted to facepalm so bad, but refrained from doing so for fear of being noticed. The solider explained about a terrorist attack and 7 young bodies of the terrorists. This made Brandon quite frightened, 7 bodies? He didnt mean the bodies of themselves did he? He must be, but how is it possible? They were still very much alive. Then again, Brandon thought, if the authorities thought they were dead, maybe that was a good thing. It would mean they wouldnt hunt them down anymore.

After a minute or two of discussion, the group decided to go on the cargo ship and the solider departed.

Awhile later they were on the cargo ship, on their way to lavender town. It was a several hour journey and Brandon tried to get some sleep along the way, but the thoughts of the 7 bodies the solider mentioned, made it so he only got about an hour sleep.

Finally, about 2am they arrived at Lavender town and the group dis embarked from the cargo ship and onto lavender town soil. Within seconds, everyone in the groups pokenavs, including his own, started chirping as it caught up on the missed messages from the mainland that it couldnt recieve on the islands. Brandon had messages from an old friend at school, something about a geodude. Brandon wondered how the kid had gotten his pokenav number as he had only given the number out to his mom and the group. He figured his mom must have given him the number. Brandon responded to the message from the friend and then sent a quick message to his Mom. "Hi Mom, Hope you are well. Been quite an adventure I have been having, I hope you are doing well and are in good health. I will see you when I get home from my journery. Love you!". After sending the message, he took a look around him at lavender city. The main thing in the city that stuck out was the death tower. Brandon took a picture of it in his pokenav, since who knew if they would ever be in lavender town again. Then Brandon let out his pokemon again and waited for the group to catch up on their messages and decide what to do next.

After a couple minutes, everyone had caught up on their messages and Rocky mentioned about possibly finding a hotel. The group was in agreement and began to search out a place to stay. Most places not only seemed to be closed, but barred up as well. Finally they found the pokemon center, which appeared to be the only place still open. They went inside and found, to their astonishment, no one at the counter. Meghan hopped the counter and started to search the back for someone, as soon as she hopped the counter, Brandon noticed a side door open and the nurse came out behind the group. When Meghan came back, the nurse asked if they needed help and Meghan asked if rooms were available, to which the nurse said ALL the rooms were vacant. As they started up the stairs towards where the rooks were located, Brandon had to withdraw Skipper back to his pokemon, he was simply too large for the staircase and small hallway. As he pushed the button on the pokeball, he said "Good night Skipper, see you tommorow buddy" . Then they were all shown rooms and as Brandon settled in to try get some sleep, Marshtomp, who with Skipper in his pokeball for the night, took over as the leader of the team for the night, arranged a schedule for guard duty, with him keeping watch for all but 2 hours of the night, the other two hours Primeape would keep watch. Then with that settled, most of Brandon's pokemon laid down and went sleep, the whole lot of them sleeping side by side, in the small, cramped room. After a little bit of tossing and turning, Brandon finally managed to fall asleep.

While he was alseep, he had the worst nightmare, ever. He saw all his pokemon suddenly get sick and die rapidly right before his eyes, no amount of antidote or potion seemed to work. Not even a full restore would make the pokemon better. As they each died one by one and Brandon felt hopeless, he began to cry and pray to god to help his pokemon. He cried, take me instead. Nothing worked and as it got down to the final 3 pokemon, Primeape, Marshtomp and Skipper, Brandon thanked them for their loyality, protection and love to him. He apologized that he couldn't save them and told them he love them. As he hugged each one last time, their bodies disintegrated and turn to ashes. Brandon horrified and crying like a baby, curled up into a ball, closed his eyes and sobbed.

He was not through yet though it seemed, for when he opened his eyes, he was at a hospital, his Mom, best friends and every person he cared about lay in beds around him. Brandon outright breaking down now, got down on his knees and begged god for forgiveness for whatever he had done to deserve this awful punishment and again asked for him to take him instead. After the prayer, sobbing and trying his hardest to speak between gasps and sobs said "Mo.... Mom.... ev... everyone, I lov...love yo..you all so.. so mu..much. I am sor...sorry I have fa..fa..failed you all an...and could...couldntnt pro...protect you all. I a... am so...s..so..soo sor..sorry. I... Love you!" and as he walked over to his mom to give her one last kiss, she said weakly "I love you Brandon, I always have and I always will. I am very proud of you son. No matter what happens to you in life, always remmeber that and always remmeber that I love... you." And with the last word, as Brandon kissed her, her body and everyone else's body disintegrated.

Then still not through the horrific nightmare, he was magically whisked to some dark place, eith some dark figure. As he stood there, prepared to face whatever might happen to him, he felt a huge draining feeling, as if the life were being sucked right out of him. Brandon knew he had to fight it, he had to go down fighting, he had to try. He resisted the force with every will power he could muster, risted with every fiber of his being and soul. Finally, after much painstaking struggle, he felt himself break free of the force.

Brandon snapped awake and sat straight up like a lightening rod, gasping and feeling himself to make sure he was truly alive. After a moment, he began to look around, still gasping and trying to catch his breath, he saw Marshtomp staring up at him from the side of the bed, looking both concerned and confused. He continued to look and study Brandon for another before asking "Marshtomp?" . Brandon finally realizing for sure it was just a nightmare, began to catch his breath and stop gasping. He hopped off the bed, landing on his knees with a small thump that woke up the rest of his pokemon, and crawled to Marshtomp and gave him a big, tight hug and repeating "I love you guys, I love you guys so much, I don't know how I would live without you". Marshtomp, trying to breath through the tight hug whimpered a soft "Marsh....tomp". Brandon quickly realizing the still relatively small pokemon couldn't breath released the pokemon from his hug. "Sorry Marshtomp, didn't mean for that to happen buddy. I just had a really terrible nightmare where terrible things happened to all of you and everyone I love. I just want you guys to know, I love you ALL VERY VERY very much and you all mean alot to me. No matter what happens, just always remmeber that, ok guys?" With that, Brandon sat down on the bed, stretched and prepared to get ready to start the day.
