Unless you think we should change that, I think we should leave that unchanged from the show and the games. Everyone hears Poke noises when attempting to talk out loud, but Psychics should be able to understand their Pokes. In a word where magic is common, you'd think those who want to connect to their Pokes on that level would learn telepathic communication. I hope that helps.

So is telepathy a hard thing to learn for races that don't specialize in Psychic magic? Or is it something that's somewhat commonplace?

Your timing of asking is pretty bad for me. I totally have no internet today at all. I am using my phone now. I did make a few changes though. I think my char is done now. Only describing how she looks like is still something I struggle with.

Is it acceptable for having multiple Pokemon on your roster to have the ability to Mega Evolve? Obviously only one could Mega Evolve at a time, but could there be a possibility for more than one Pokemon to Mega Evolve throughout the War?

Okay @bronislav84 I think my character is all ready; I revamped the background a bit and jazz, I hope it isn't too much or anything. I'll be able to iron out details this Saturday if need be, but I work tomorrow, Sunday, and Monday, (as well as Monday being my birthday) so it'd be tough for me to come on during those days and do stuff. So let me know if it's good or needs work; much appreciated!

Had some RL issues. Won't be able to do evaluations tonight guys. Don't worry there's a couple of days before the 24th still. We're starting slow anyway I'm guessing.

There's a Starman waiting in the sky!
He'd like to come and meet us, but he thinks he'd blow our minds.

He's told us not to blow it 'cause he knows it's all worthwhile.

Hello all. Here is my character entry. As I haven't role-played in ages, please let me know if anything needs to change. I'm excited to knock off the rust and enter into the WAR.

    Name: Chad Ivine
    Gender: Male
    Species: Angel
    Age: 28
    Team: Phoenix Battalion
Description: Meet Chad. Standing at a commanding 6’5”, he definitely stands out in the crowd. He keeps his black-feathered wings tucked away from sight until absolute necessity draws them out. His voice is low and engages listeners, his gestures are swift, yet soft. He is muscular yet agile, strong but generally mild mannered in movement.

(Yes, that’s actually me in real life.)

Personality: Chad has the ability to strike up conversations with most anyone he meets. He is a “people” person and feeds off other’s energy. He is usually quite jovial and confident, however at times can be critical to the point of coming off slightly arrogant. He holds everyone to a high standard and expects most people to adhere to the same moral compass that he does. Extremely sharp and quick witted, Chad is strategic in most of his actions and rarely has knee-jerk reactions. He loves a joke and very kitsch and campy in personality, although he knows when to tone it down and be serious.

Background: Chad was born into a well-known family in Lavender Town, Kanto. His family guarded the Pokémon gravesites for years, long before Chad was conceived. During childhood, Chad made friends with passersby coming to visit the Pokémon Tower to either pay their respects to Pokémon in general or lay their own partners to rest. Chad always had more of a free spirit than the rest of his family members, and that was evident from a very early age. At 10 years old, the family gave Chad their eldest and wisest Pokémon companion, Absol, for what he thought was to begin his Pokémon journey. Unbeknownst to him, the family asked Absol to accompany him for protection.

Strange things have happened in Chad’s life, however he chalks most of them up to being coincidences. Thinking little to nothing of events that others would deem bizarre, Chad sees most things as normal. Growing up in the Pokémon Tower has enabled spirits of those that are departed to recognize his sincerity and respect for all living creatures and the memories of those who have passed on. Unknown to Chad, these spirits have helped guide and steer him out of danger.

Now 28, Chad recently began roaming around the Pokémon World to create a life worth living for himself. He had been working under his father at the sanctuary for most of his adulthood, while the only time he left for an extended period of time was to attend Celadon University. During his tenure there, he met some individuals belonging to a group called "Second Chance." Although they had asked him to join, his affiliation remained loose and only assisted in one mission.

His family still resides in Lavender Town, overseeing the operations of gravesides and the Pokémon Tower. Although his family has given him grief for leaving them, Chad has a thirst for understanding the connections between humans and Pokémon. He does feel guilty for leaving his family behind and thinks constantly about when is the appropriate time to return to them and take the mantle of being the Head Pokémon Tower Guardian.

At the time of the attacks, Chad had been adventuring in the lands of Hoenn. As a child, he had heard of Mt. Pyre, another sacred place honoring fallen Pokémon. He had wished to someday reach this place to pay his respects. With mania running rampant throughout the world, Chad thought Mt. Pyre would be a safe haven. Currently in Lilycove City, Chad's goal is to make it to Mt. Pyre as soon as possible.

    Pokémon:

    Other:
    • Chad has expert skills in utilizing a bo staff.
    • Absol rarely resides in a PPC.
    • Chad has an affinity for winged-Pokémon.

No sorry, you cannot. Would be too many racial variables and balance issues. Just assume mother determines species like Pokes, or that they choose to only have kids with their own species. Interbreeding with a common ancestor is technically possible, but I'd just like to not allow it for players and important NPCs for the sake of preserving balance.

Will be checking you guys today/tonight if all goes well.
