Yeah, I didn't go on vacation last year and haven't done anything this year (and I have no real plans for the rest of the year at the moment anyway). My dad... eh, going on vacation with him isn't too much fun. He keeps asking "what do you want to do" and shoots down every idea I come up with until I end up finally picking what he actually wanted to do in the first place (usually something we've done already and/or something very cheap in price). He's also extremely frugal with spending money and just wants to loaf around on the beach because it's cheap and free for him (and he's a total coupon zealot with everything). And that point, I'm like, eh, why bother? I'll just stay a week at home and play games.

But, if you make your own plans and ideas for vacations and places to go, he just invites himself into them without even asking and takes charge! It's rude to do that, but he does it anyway. So my brother and I usually just end up axing the plans. My sister doesn't want anything to do with him either. She would gladly invite my brother and I to do stuff in NC, but my dad keeps pushing to come along, which kills the whole plan.

So yeah, I'd rather just stick with a "staycation" than deal with this bleh.
