Mount Aso, which the Pokemon games took as inspiration for Hoenn’s Mount Chimney, has erupted. Authorities have banned citizens from traveling within 125 miles of it, as it’s sent black and white smoke as much as 6,560 feet into the air.
As of now, there are no reports of injuries, and Meteorologists say it’s unclear whether there was any volcanic flow from the mountain.
After an August eruption, and a past eruption in 2014, researcher Yasuaki Sado has made people aware that another eruption could happen.
