I'm cisgender, so I go by he/his pronouns. When I do drag, I'd have no problem being called by female pronouns, though (I typically refer to drag queens by she/her pronouns if they have no preference, otherwise I call them by their preference). I'm adamant about using the right pronouns and respecting desired pronouns, though. I don't see it as my place to decide what someone should be referred to as, and I don't feel as if I should judge someone for their preferred pronouns. I think it's horribly disrespectful to use non-preferred pronouns purposefully if you know them. I could totally understand getting upset if you're not called by your desired pronouns (I probably wouldn't lash out at the offender, but you never know what someone else is going through - it could be a huge trigger to be called by a pronoun you don't want to be called by).

I just don't understand why some people are so adamant about disregarding pronouns and using biological sex ("but what does your birth certificate say?") to demonize the non-cis, even though sex and gender are not related (especially if you're not cis)...It's so discourteous.

I'll admit, I first saw this thread and was totally confused about the topic, hence why I didn't reply right away.

I'm a guy, I use male pronouns, nothing else to it. I can't really understand why anyone would use different pronouns and skew around the English language and confuse everyone else they talk to. If you're a guy, use guy pronouns. If you're a girl, use girl pronouns. If you don't know the other person's gender, just be honest and ask.

My pronouns are whatever a person happens to refer to me as in any given situation. Considering that I have a beard, it's unlikely that I'll ever really be referred to as a girl, but I have no issues with it should that occur at some point. Have been pretty chill about that sort of thing.
