The Speed Gamers are gonna catch them all for charity!
These guys love playing video games for a cause and this time they are playing classic Pokemon games. Starting today and ending on Sunday, The Speed Gamers are trying to catch all the Pokemon from Bulbasaur all the way to Celebi! Their stream has four screens where one of them is playing Pokemon Red and the other is playing Pokemon Crystal. There is a bulletin board for latest donors and another to see them playing live!
The Speed Gamers are also giving people incentives to play! If you donate $10 then you will be entered to win a Pokemon Field Guide by Kara Fry! Those who donate $5 will get a copy of the special “Thank You Iwata” edition of Nintendo Force magazine!
There are also stretch goals like catching all 26 of the Unowns from Pokemon Crystal. So make sure to donate for this to happen!
Lastly, The Speed Gamers are going to have special guests such as Nob. This man was responsible for translating the text for all the early Pokemon games. This interview will be happening on Friday from 7pm to 8pm CST.
Below is a list of charities where all the money that The Speed Gamers donations will be going to.

  • Backpack for Kids: provides backpacks of food to kids that would not have food over the weekend during the school year.
  • Tara Sawyer Foundation: helps support organizations for abused, neglected, or abandoned children and drills wells for safe drinking water in impoverished regions.
  • Trent’s Retreat Nonprofit Foundation: provides free retreats to families who have a child suffering from pediatric cancer.
  • Paws for Reflection: provides a healing environment utilizing animal assisted therapies to enhance the quality of life for all clients, and to provide a loving home, whether temporary or permanent, for animals that meet a specific criteria.
