What is your approach at life?

I read something by the lead singer of my favourite band last night... I think it's one of those things that you know yourself, but it's good to hear it from others--especially someone you look up to.

It was basically just saying that no matter what you do, you're always going to disappoint someone, so there's no point trying to cater for everyone. If they don't like you, then they can go away and hang out with someone they do like. Then you're free of them, and they're free of you. It was also about recognising that someone else's happiness is not more important than your own, and neither is their opinion. I think it's very important to, yes, be kind to people and be mindful of others, but don't mould yourself to someone else's specifications. If you're going to do something, do it because it's the right thing for you.
