This is in stark contrast to how America has worked in terms of how Syrian refugees have been treated as in the main stream media. I had previously not have had an opinion on this issue, as it was not an issue I had learned much about, but from my current limited knowledge, I do think the American media has blown this out of proportion.

So ya, I think this is an interesting topic. If anything, watching a heartwarming video as such should be the way to go when it comes to such refugees, not the current hysteria we have seen in the US.

To be fair, you're comparing the Holy Grail of all nations to America. I mean, they're nice to just about everyone, have had gay marriage legal for over a decade (I think), and have moose. Not a fair comparison to the… melting pot that is America.

Personally I do think we should let the refugees in and just do more extensive background checks that they do now since it has appeared to me the checks they do aren't that extensive and we're treating the Syrians much like the Jews back in WW2 when the exact same thing happened. Along with the Jews, Nazis, disguised as Jews, snuck into other countries to await Hitler's orders of attack. While it never occurred, it still was a threat. Why is this any different?
