    APPARENTLY SO.

Apparently, I've never made a thread about evening the odds.

What's most apparent to you about this world? You may interpret this in any way you like.

It's most apparent to me that people don't understand the English language anymore and, as a result, use improper words for the meanings they convey. The best examples are "homophobic" and "transphobic". The people are not actually scared of trans or homosexual people, they hate them. There's a distinct different. "Homomisia" and "Transmisia" would be better fits.

Well, here are a few things I find apparent considering how people behave these days.

People need to slow down and be patient. The whole "I needed it done yesterday" thing isn't doing anyone favors, it's just stressing everyone out. So John was a half hour late. Not a big deal, life goes on. Or Sarah forgot her homework and promised she'll bring it in tomorrow. Some teachers I knew would kill them with a 0, and yet they themselves would forget to bring something to class the next day.

Time and deadlines are also a human creation. We've become so affixed to this junk that it's eating away at other things we should be valuing more (the principles of time even start getting screwy once you start going into other space). Friends, family, compassion, helping others, and just plain empathy are more important than schedules, money, and personal ego. My dad knew of a coworker that literally brought his accounting books with him to his hospital deathbed. Stuff like that just bothers the heck out of me that we've gotten so demanding to that point.

I also feel like all the right people are in the wrong place right now. The real leaders, ones that never lie, cheat, steal, and have integrity and courage, will never hold public office with the way things are going because it takes a network and lots of money to go all the way up. True leaders take the fall for their followers and give them credit for their hard work. They also help those same people get better rather than blame them when things go wrong. They help others learn from their mistakes and give them the chance to remedy the mistakes rather than throw them under the bus.

The best people need a chance. The whole "it's not what you know, it's who you know" era should go die in a fire. It's all about what you know, and if you don't have the skills, experience, and know-how to do something, step aside for the person that does, and learn from those people!

Anyway, I hope that didn't sound too much like a rant.
