Does anyone else let out a massive string of curse words when you stub your toe or is that just me

Like I imagine the little combo counter from the Head It minigame in Pokemon Amie over my head like "x12! x13!"
Is it ninja Skarmory or Ninjask armory?

I honestly never curse. Like, literally never. Not in real life anyway. In real life, I can count the number of times I've cursed in the past year on one hand. Online I curse like a sailor though. I think it's because it's just so easy to do when you aren't actually saying the words out loud. I must be compensating for how little I curse elsewhere.

I don't really like swearing when its directed at other people. It intimidates me a bit. And I think there's a time and place for it and that it shouldn't really be done in public around little kids and stuff. (Hate the train sometimes :P) I dint mind if its done in jest or in random conversation but I hate swearing in arguments because I find it a bit disrespectful, I guess. xD
I do agree about the swearing at other people, unless you're joking and you both know that is the case. xD I keep that to a bare minimum, only when I'm really angry at someone. Which is usually only on the road. Chances are when I call someone an ***, I'm teasing them. xD But yeah, cursing AT someone, I'd say, IS 100% meant to intimidate / provoke them. And when you're angry at someone, doing that isn't the healthiest way to go about solving the problem!

I am guilty of cursing around kids, but it's always by accident and I feel either embarassed or annoyed afterwards. Embarassed if I catch myself; annoyed if someone calls me out for it. Because, while people should watch what they say around kids...parents should have responsibility, too. You can't shield your kids from everything, after all, and it isn't that bad if they hear a passing curse word out in public. So the responsibility, imho, goes both ways!

I have a really bad tendency to swear when I'm upset. If I'm pissed enough I'll even throw in the F word, which really gets my mom angry. I'm easily provoked these days.

I don't like swearing myself, and I rarely do it. Unless a game really happens to piss me off, haha. Like Sarah, it wasn't something I grew up with and my dad was always telling me it was impolite. I agree with that statement, and I don't think swearing should be directed at others. If you're angry, yeah, that's fine. Cuss away! But don't swear at me or anyone else because you can't keep your emotions in check.

That said, I don't really have a problem with people swearing if that's what they choose to do. My own brother swears every second word these days. xD As long as it's not done in public, I'm fine with it. I also don't like it when kids swear. It's really disrespectful towards everyone else AND the parents who raised them. Unless those parents spoiled them rotten and let them get away with murder...

They say cursing when that happens actually helps with the pain.

Incredible. I now have a reason

Apparently cursing helps with stuttering too? That's what my teacher said, at least. Apparently that's why there was so much foul language in The King's Speech; the historical character that was being played had a terrible stutter and that's how he dealt with it. I haven't seen it, so I'll just take his word for it. c'x

Mythbusters actually proved that swearing while under heavy pressure or bodily strain actually does help the body feel more at ease. XD

That's probably why people do it, and I can't really blame them. I often use the word "frick" in place of the f-word. And if you guessed that's because of Elliot from Scrubs, you're totally right!

I was brought up not being allowed to swear in my household, and still now my mother will tell us off for it. XD But it's her house, her rules, so whatever.

I do swear, but I rarely swear at people to their faces. If I do, it's grumbling to myself about something that's annoying me. xD I dislike being on the train, for instance, and hearing bogans swearing left, right and centre. They usually do it without a care for who's around, either. I think it's partly manners, so I don't swear around kids or people who I know don't like swearing.

Or just shouting in general; I can definitely believe that! It probably releases pent-up stress or something that developed in response to the situation, which in turn probably releases a certain chemical into your brain. Idk.
