When did you start using forums?

I started going on a forum for a flash game I liked when I was 7... yeah. I was a big noob that mainly cared about getting posts. Soon after I found PE2K, and I joined when I was 8 or 9. That was the only forum I was pretty consistently active on, with the exception of PXR, obviously.

Well, I started playing Pokemon Tower Defense, went to the wiki to get some help with a level, on the wiki I found a link to Pokefarm. I started using the forums there, but wasn't too active. I found a link to Fusemon.org, where I met a group of people and was introduced to RPing, and that's where my forum use really started. Fusemon died shortly after, but we kept the group together. I don't know exactly when it was that all of this started, but the new site for our small group was made in late May, 2013, so I was 15.

I started out actually on a shoutbox that gave me the origin of my username about... 6 years ago, but I don't really consider that a forum for obvious reasons. The shoutbox became a really toxic environment so I kind of went dormant on the internet for a while and then eighth grade rolled around. I started hitting some really hard times so I retreated to the Internet again and joined Pokefarm. I joined the forums there and quickly learned how to short hand roleplay. That's actually where Sloane Jackson got her debut, as a Gardevoir Gijinka. Then I transferred over to Fusemon on the day it opened. I was it's second official user, and I joined the forums hoping for a community much like Pokefarm's. What I got was even better, a group of life long friends. Fusemon lasted two years before it was supposed to shut down, but then it magically got renewed. Nevertheless, our little group moved onto our own private site and we were more active there than on Fusemon for *shivers* reasons. Fusemon officially shut down on May 30, 2014. From there I didn't really branch out again until I decided to join here.

My first forum was CNet sometime around the year 2000/2001, and that was a bare bones kind of messenger board that didn't even have stuff like avatars or signatures. This was back in the early days of the internet (I feel old talking like this), but I found it was neat that you could strike up a meaningful conversation and unlike real life, people couldn't try to interrupt you and you always had a chance to share all your thoughts before you passed the baton. I still enjoy forums for this reason, and it's an easy means to communicate with anyone from anywhere.

My first Pokémon forum was PE2K, and I joined that in September 2003 as "FlyingLatios." And heh, no one remembers me by that name. I used it for about two months before switching to the Matrix-themed "Neo Pikachu," which I used for a darn long time even long after buzz for the Matrix movies died down. And then a certain flying squirrel Pokémon full of awesomeness came along.

I joined PE2K after being introduced by my brother three days after my ninth birthday! I became a regular starting when I was around twelve. I've since joined other Pokemon forums (mostly to promote PXR lol), but PE2K and now PXR are the only forums I've ever stayed on!
