My last name, Houde, gets mispronounced quite often. The correct way to pronounce it is like "hood". Here are some of the more memorable ways people say it:

"How'd" - By far the most common. It does make sense though.
"Who'd" - Like "how'd", I can see how people got this one. One of the professors in my department keeps saying it this way and I keep forgetting to correct him. XD
"Hode" - Um, okay. Not sure how people forget the U on this one.
"How-OO-day" - ... I just don't know.

Don't worry, "howd" is how most people end up saying it. As long as it's not "howooday". XD

Every name so far I've read correctly, except one: Xanthe. I'm one of the Zanth people.

My name is as generic as it gets, Anthony Wayne Arnold, but Jan pronounces my username wrong. She says it ahwah when it's supposed to be ayway.

Not even gonna lie, when I first saw your name I had no clue! I met someone called Xanthe a few years ago and she pronounced her name Zanth-uh, so afterwards I thought it was pronounced like that! Obviously her parents had no idea what name they'd given their daughter and told her the wrong thing growing up xD

I knew it was hood. xD I figured it was just a funky spelling, but didn't realise it was your actual last name! I like it though. I can definitely see how people'd get it wrong, though...but that last one? Um...? xD
