Some things that we knew from our past, or our parents or other people who were around before we were born told us about have changed dramatically or no longer exist today. Some of us might view these things favorably, perhaps to the point where we want that particular thing brought back.
What things from history do you wish still existed today and otherwise want brought back? One limitation to this: no bringing back dead people!
One thing I'd think would be nice to bring back is movie theaters showing short subjects, including 7-minute cartoons, prior to the main feature instead of 20 minutes worth of corny TV commercials. With the way things are at the movies, you think you're actually watching a television broadcast with all those commercials you've seen on prime-time network television!

Animaniacs and Tiny Toon Adventures. I mean, it's great they put Animaniacs on Netflix, but still, I love those classic, zany cartoons. They're just as good as I remember them.

I would love to see some quality teen-focused television like Friday Night Lights or the O.C., or at least lovably goofy things like Smallville or early seasons of Pretty Little Liars which had moments of brilliance often enough come back. I have tried watching a few teen dramas that are on or have started recently, most notably Star-Crossed, but have not been impressed with how little fun these people are having with such a rich setting that is high school drama.
Plus if things like Dawson's Creek, 90210, and crew get big again maybe my favorite cartoon of all, Clone High, a mockery-filled mash-up of history and this genre, can be resurrected!Dreams come a size too big. It's so that we can grow into them.

I wish they still had quality tv shows still. Don't get me wrong, I've heard great things about some of the new shows, but not many, and am underwhelmed by the ones I've actually seen.
It's been a while since I've actually sat down and watched tv, but it seems like Cartoon Network is intent on ruining every show I grew up on (Scooby Doo, Teen Titans, Powerpuff Girls, etc.), not to mention having just plain stupid shows alongside them, and Disney Channel seems to have, for the most part, entered a phase where they have nothing for anyone who is between the "disney jr" age and teenager years or for the kids at heart. I can't really speak on Nickelodeon, since I stopped watching that much longer ago, but I think it may be safe to assume something similar there.
Sorry for the rant, but I just want my good tv back.

I've noticed some genres of games have died out. I always liked the classic style of beat-em-up games like Streets of Rage, Final Fight, and some of those TMNT games in the arcade where you punch, kick, whack, and slug your way through armies of thugs and punks like it's nobody's business. As a kid, I loved those games and nothing really seems to exist for that genre anymore. The closest I can come up with is Diablo III, although there are major differences there, but at least the general idea is the same.
Also, some arcade rail shooters were a lot of fun, where you use a plastic gun as your controller and you just blast everything in sight. I haven't played one of those in ages.
