    Your Favourite Artist?

So I'm pretty sure everyone has a person who's an inspiration to them, no matter what they do! So who's your favourite artist?

I love any of the works by Hayao Miyazaki (if you don't know him, you're missing out). He's well known for his epic traditional illustrations that have been turned into masterful movies, such as My Neighbour Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away. Since I'm a huge fan of anything anime and manga related, Miyazaki has been a great inspiration to me, especially during my University Honours year where I strove to create my own manga. :'D

My favourite artist is @Papyrus. ;D

Other than her, I'm not sure who my favourite is. Never really thought about a "favourite" before. But for years I've just been totally in love with the art of Pandora Hearts, by Jun Mochizuki. I even bought the art book because I love it so much. Check out some scans. I'm just captivated by the style and feeling and atmosphere of her artwork.

OH NO YOU DIDN'T. I have the most irresistible urge to hug you now. And change all your stuff to Papyrus. <3

I do agree, though, that all her artwork is absolutely amazing! .u.

I'm gonna be lame and admit that my favourite artist is actually someone completely irrelevant to digital art - L. S. Lowry, a painter from northern England. He mainly focussed on drawing industrial landscapes similar to this one. Something about the bleak colours, bold outlines and homogenous disproportional figures really speak to me. His is the only work that I've ever felt an emotional connection to, which is really strange considering the subject matter. I visited a gallery of his work while I was in Salford (his hometown) in April and I nearly cried

Also, the music video for The Masterplan by Oasis was very heavily inspired by his work, which is pretty cool!

There's nothing wrong with that! I like a few painters myself, although I'm not big on it (since I can't paint to save my life). But I really love Monet's work. And Oasis. xD Beside the point.

i think my favorite artist, of the top of my head, is kaneoya sachiko (a lot of her stuff is sort of nsfw or implies it, so heads up)

her art has this great creepy-cute look to it, its incredibly expressive, the backgrounds she draws have a great pop to them, and her linework and colors are always on point... for me, her stuff is #goals
