How do you pronounce GIF?

I say gif because jiff just doesn't make sense to me. It also doesn't flow as well. I can understand why that Uni acronym is said with a ck sound, because that's C's first function. At least, that's how I'd see it. Whereas the hard g is G's first function, rather than the sound it shares with J, which is J's first function. Plus, this is jreat:

I pronounce it with a hard "g" sound, but I do recognize that I'm wrong because the official pronunciation is like with a "j."

And Fate is right - just because graphics is pronounced with a hard g doesn't mean anything! ISIS is pronounced like "eye," but Islamic is not.
