Lol, good to hear. I am hoping we can get started soon, preferably before school kills me again. That will depend on a certain few factors, though.

    Name: Catherine James.

    Age: 15 years old.

    Gender: Female.

Patron God(dess): Sobek, The God of Crocodiles

Appearance: Catherine, is a very average looking girl, at first glance. She has a slim waist, her adult figure beginning to take shape. She doesn't stand much taller than 5'5". Her hair reached down her back to just at the curve of her back. It was kept a mess unless done in a pony tail. Her shoulders are broad for a girl and she has been known to be able to move quite heavy objects.

Personality: Catherine, is a quite girl. She has a ring of people who she tends to sit with at school, however, the conversational inputs have always been minimal. She typically spends her time watching the other kids. The kids she already sits with are not considered the strongest of her peers. It's for this reason she feels as though she needs to protect them. Almost all of them have been picked on for some reason or another and have had Catherine come to their aid.

Her parents have always appreciated her protective nature, however, they constantly request that she tries harder to keep out of fights. Her regular suspensions have started to become a problem.
Despite this, Catherine is a smart child. Being an observer personality, she spent most of her time learning how other people acted. She could be quite cunning to other children and her own parents. The only times she would employ deception is in attempts to keep other children safe.

    History:
"We can't keep her." said a man's voice.

Rain beat down on the roof of a small home. The windows shook as though the storm outside itself were going to destroy this small home. A childs cries were echoing through the small home.

"She has no where else to go." Cried a woman's voice.
"Cloud's Cross." said the man again.
"We'll never see her again! We have no idea what those monsters do in there!"
"It's the only hope for, it's the only place that will take her! Think about it, the world is falling apart all around us? Do you really think we'd be able to take care of her here?!"

There was a silence through the home. Even the storm outside did not seem to be making noise anymore, despite the windows being spattered with rain.

"Will we ever see her again?" The woman said quietly.
There was more silence. The wind battering the home began to pick up wildly. The entire home shook.
"It's our last choice, for her." Said the man grimly.

    — Fifteen Years Later —

Catherine, sat alone in he room. She would sit in this small room for hours on end, staring up at the sky for hours. She kept wondering to herself, where is the sun? The sun seemed to be gone all day, everyday. A thick blanket of grey occluded the sky during every waking "daylight" hour. The night was always exceptionally dark, save for the street lights that illuminated the walkways.

Catherine, lived in Cloud's Cross. Cloud's Cross, as far as she was concerned, was all of the world there is. Long ago there was another world. This world however, fell to a calamity. The only parents she had ever known were two scientists. Both of which carried the James name. However, Catherine had always felt that they probably weren't real family. Since she was the age of seven, they stopped being such a big part of her life.

They were always working. They've told her that their work is very important to the future of where they live. This work may even lead to the recreation of the rest of the world. Catherine, believed them. Over time, seeing them less and less, Catherine had began to think that perhaps they don't care at all.
She now spends most of her time in her room. Looking up at the sky. Catherine, felt that there was something strange about her and about many of the other children who resided in Clouds Cross. Almost exclusively, the children in Cloud's Cross were the children of scientists. Lately, all of them, Catherine included, had began exhibiting some strange features. Catherine, had been noticing she has been more angry than usual.

She has been in a number of fights this year alone. The reason she is spending quite a long time in her room today, was because she was suspended from her school. This has became a regular occurrence. Her parent's have explained to her over and over again that there is no need for her to be fighting with any of the other kids in the school, however she has felt that whenever she sees other kids being unfair to each that it should be her duty to protect them. Not all of the time have these fights resulted in violence. It just so happened that her more recent fights have.

This wasn't just the only change that has been happening in her life however. Lately Catherine has felt she is able to communicate with the dead. A far-fetched idea, even her parent's believe isn't possible. It is, for whatever reason though, as Catherine finds her self staring out her window and toward the sky, that she feels there is something beyond the sky attempting to talk to her.

    Other: None at this time.

I'm still going to be working on some more details for her, but this is what I've decided I like so far.

Alright everyone (who is still payign attention to this thread anyhow), I think I've told everyone that's still said they intend to keep up with the RP that I will likely be putting up the intro post tonight or tomorrow. SUs posted after the start of the RP will be accepted so long as you think you can jump in, for those who aren't done, or happen to become interested later on.

For those who have been waiting, sorry it's taken so long to get going, and hopefully we have a nice long RP ahead of us!

    *is totally on time*

    Name: Iskander Ingram

    Age: 18

    Gender: Male

    Patron God: Odin

Appearance: The first word that comes anyone’s mind when seeing Iskander is the word “bear.” Iskander towers over most at about two and quarter meters high, with broad shoulders and a square face. His skin is mostly fair, with some tanning, and his bright blue eye is alight with good humor and intelligence. His other eye is usually covered with an eyepatch, but when he removes it, it reveals that his eye and eyelid are completely gone, and the part of the socket covered by the patch is covered with burn scars. It is not uncommon for people seeing under his eyepatch for the first time to faint.

Personality: Iskander looks far more intimidating than he acts. His voice is low in pitch and volume, and whenever he speaks to anyone, he is almost always gentle and paternal. He is quietly charismatic, and he tends to be looked at as a figure of quiet authority. He is reserved about his role most of the time, preferring to gently guide others down the path of doing the right thing; however, he has been known to give sharp remarks.

However, Iskander’s appearance and gentle demeanor mask an absolute genius. Iskander is perceptive, resourceful, and highly capable at long range planning. He doesn’t explicitly show off his intelligence, which means that while no one thinks he’s an idiot, only the perceptive are aware of how much information he can put together. He is skilled at reading at people, and he can grasp abstract concepts with ease and apply them very well.

Even though Iskander is generally a good person, he is far from being all freesias and roses. He seems to be highly in tune with his godly patron, which, while an advantage in gaining Odin’s strength, his god also made enemies. This in turn strains Iskander’s relationships with children of opposed godly patronage. More seriously, Iskander is highly objective oriented: he will see a goal in front of him and achieve it, and while it might be a worthy goal to achieve, he is not above using deception or other less savory tactics to achieve his aims.

History: Iskander does not know much about his early life. All he knows is that one of his adoptive fathers, Dr. Richard Ingram, worked as a Child Protective Services agent. When the good doctor found that a one year old Iskander was living with his single abusive father, he took his then boyfriend, Dr. Daniel Ingram, to help him investigate.

What they found was shocking to the core.

The two were anticipating that the child would be bruised and scarred to some extent. However, they did not anticipate the sheer magnitude of it all. The child was not merely “scarred”, his eye was recently burned out of his skull. Iskander’s birth father was placed under arrest and the Ingrams adopted Iskander.

It took time and help from Daniel Ingram (a renowned psychiatrist), but Iskander grew up to be a mostly normal child. With several doctors on call in the community, Iskander’s missing eye wasn’t too much of a big deal, healthwise, and Daniel helped prevent major psychological damage before it started.

Iskander, however, grew up very intelligent and suspicious. He quickly gathered an intuition for reading people and had a general instinct to play things close to the chest. It did not take him long to start thinking that there was something strange about the community, a suspicion that he only shared with his closest friends. He did not, however, have any hard evidence to substantiate it until two things occurred.

One, Beau Sanders lifted a part of a building, only to vanish the next day.

Two, Iskander injured himself on a nearby nail, only to throw it hard enough and with enough precision that the nail embedded itself entirely into a nearby wall.

The latter wasn’t proof enough to Iskander about any potential abilities he might have had, but it was highly suspicious given that it occurred in conjunction with the former. He tried to summon his abilities again in private, trying every single possible combination of what his abilities could potentially be with very little fruit. In fact, he got so frustrated he ended up punching a wall, skinning his knuckles.

Only for his next attempt at magic, throwing a book from a distance into a wall, to succeed perfectly.

Over the next few weeks, Iskander began to retreat from his friends in his attempt to decipher the intricacies of his pain based abilities. He began to carry a lighter with him at all times, burning himself with it at the top of his arm (where it would be hidden by his shirt) so he could perform tests on demand. He’s at the point where he has a reasonable grasp of his abilities by now, but he’s trying to figure out how to tell someone who cares enough that they are not going to make him disappear that he has an ability dependent on causing himself pain. As of right now, he considers this conversation to be somewhat awkward

    Abilities:
(anything in italics is something he has the potential to gain but has not yet)
Seidr: Magic. Iskander is capable of using a broad range of magic, from (theoretically) pyrokinesis to kinetic manipulation to even enthrallment of others, theoretically limited only by his imagination. However, to use his abilities, Iskander must “sacrifice himself to himself”, causing himself some measure pain for a one to one energy output. Iskander technically has no upper limit to his magical prowess: he could, for instance, burn his arm entirely off with lye and be able to cast magic on scale with plate tectonics. However, he clearly has reason to avoid going that far. As he grows to his full potential, his energy output to pain ratio will increase, but he will never be able to shake off the requirement.
Runes: Iskander has the capacity to learn The Runes to help structure his magic, which will reduce the pain requirement for certain spell classes (e.g. the Rune for fire magic will allow him to cast fire more easily but will have no effect on his ability to manipulate wind). However, Iskander will only be able to begin having The Runes reveal themselves to him after he sustains a personal injury large enough to change him forever.
Huginn and Munin: Iskander will eventually draw to him a pair of ravens and unintentionally imbue them with the abilities of Huginn and Muninn. They will be more or less loyal scouts who can spy for him and inform of events they see. He will not be able to accidentally reincarnate Huginn and Muninn until after he gains access to The Runes, however.

Other: (Anything we need to know that hasn't been covered yet? That goes here.)

(I'm surprised that there are no super-obscure deities, like the on I am going to use as my Patron)
(I haven't RPed in quite some time, so my sign up might not be on par with everyone else's.)

    Name: Eric Nigel Diamond
    Age: 18
    Gender: Male
Patron God(dess): Ah Puch (Mayan God of Death)
Appearance: Eric is a bit on the overweight side, weighing in at about two hundred and fourteen pounds. However, he is rather tall for his age, at six feet, three inches. His eyes are a strange glowing shade of green. His skin is quite pale, with curly dark brown hair atop his head, spiked at the front. He wears a lot of dark clothing. First off, he wears a purple skull-cap pinned to his auburn locks. He wears a golden watch on his left wrist. He wears an "AC/DC Highway to Hell" T-Shirt that happens to be a little too big for him. His pants are black jeans that are rolled up at the ankles, with several tears in the knees. His shoes are a black Nike brand pair of sneakers.
Personality: Eric has been known to be "brutally honest" by many. He has absolutely no filter whatsoever when it comes to which words comes out of his mouth and when. He also tends to hold grudges for life, so don't get on his bad side, ever. According to himself, Eric doesn't have very many friends. He is rather impatient most of the time, with an unusually hot temper. He tends to complain a lot when things don't go his way, and his sense of humor is often dark and twisted.
History: Eric was born into a poor family. His mother died giving birth to him, and his father had three full-time jobs, and died when Eric was about three years old, right as Cloud's Cross was getting sealed away from the rest of the world. His powers come from the Mayan death god Ah Puch, include what he calls "Miasma breath", "Ghost telepathy" (although it's primarily his dead parents and some dead ancestors), and to an extent, "Zombie summoning". He recently turned eighteen, and decided to stop being too lazy to use his powers as often as he'd like, although he was likely born with them.
Other: (Anything we need to know that hasn't been covered yet? That goes here.)

    @Fiery Fastball

While the quality of your SU isn't bad, I see multiple problems, but really, most of it comes down to the fact that everyone is supposed to start off as a Cloud's Cross native (all of whom have been sealed away from the rest of the world for 15 years), and that the apocalypse has already happened. Eric would likely have difficulty finding creatures of the night to have a soft spot for, let alone know he had a soft spot for them. He wouldn't be able to just flee to Cloud's Cross, even if he knew where it was, he would have quite the time getting in, and then he'd have even more trouble hiding from the adults there...who would freak out if they knew he was there, as well as the fact he just seemed to have developed powers out of nowhere. Bouncing from Christian Mission to Mission would be highly unreasonable, as the world above Cloud's Cross...well, it isn't very pretty. Those few still alive aren't very welcoming, and it would make travel difficult and dangerous (as the kids will eventually find out themselves). I'm also not quite sure about the miasma flatulence.

So unfortunately, I can't accept this SU as of right now. Feel free to make edits and let me know when you're done.

Haha, I thought about starting Shawn's post with her using a punching bag too, but decided she'd most likely be at the game with friends ~who I should really name though I figured them to be insignificant NPC's for now?~ Glad I didn't, though, as Velo's scene was much more interesting than I could have made mine xD

It's interesting how Shawn and Sera share a few traits though their personalities are so different--looking forward to seeing how they interact :D

Also, is anyone planning an interaction with Lydia or can I go ahead and post something else with her? I had an idea with her the other day ^^
