Sloane looked at Max right in the eyes. The thought of trainers doing that to a pokemon caused her heart to cease up inside. They purposely catch a pokemon just in case they lose? Her eyes narrowed in suspicion. Sloane looked over at their opponents and set her jaw, her nose wrinkling a little. That just wasn’t right. Not only did it not sit well with the moral side of Sloane, the side that the Kimonos had drilled into her since she was young, but it also hit her somewhere in her core. Being treated like you’re unwanted, not needed, and then just given away without a second thought. Sloane grew up with that feeling and knowing that these people were causing the same feeling in their pokemon made her want to snarl.

Parashu noticed Sloane’s sudden shift in mood. He lowered his head down to Sloane and nuzzled her a little. Sloane looked at her shiny sandshrew. She saw the look in his eye, the way that he felt he had a duty and dedication to Sloane and Sloane alone. She nodded to herself, dug her walking stick’s tip into the dirt, and let out a low growl.

“Oh, I’ll beat them all right. They won’t know what hit them,” Sloane replied, casting a glare at their opponents.

Zenith listened to Max's and Sou's words. They was right. She had to trust her pokemon and herself. If she didn't trust herself to make the right decisions, or trust her pokemon and their strength, than she wouldn't get anywhere as a trainer. The moral part of Zenith despised these Sons of Arcanine for their disgusting tactics in using freshly-caught, weak pokemon as bait to steal stronger pokemon from their trainers. To treat a person or pokemon like trash was utterly despicable. But Zenith knew she had to continue with this tournament, and she'd do it believing in her pokemon.

"You're right, Max, Sou," Zenith said, an icy tone to her voice. "If we're going to beat these guys, we need to focus and put our trust in our pokemon and ourselves. I'm not going to let them get away with this!"

Sou was standing there when Max spoke up with a short speech of sorts. The part he mentioned about them having trust in themselves really spoke volumes and she found herself feeling a bit better, even pumped. He looked at her and Zen for a brief second at the end as well, Sou nodding a bit. Zen even seemed a bit more pumped and upbeat after it, smiling a bit.

Sloane cheered, Parashu sleepily cheering from her neck. It had been close, but Sloane had managed to pull out a win. She had noticed that the man's Cyndaquil had been the weak link, and using Parashu to take it down had been the ideal choice. Now she could rescue this cyndaquil from his party and make sure it never felt abandoned again.

One of the men walked up to Zenith and smirked. "Which pokemon you giving me kid?" he asked mockingly.

Zenith snarled as she glared at the man. "I'm not giving you any of my pokemon, because I'm taking you down!" she said. She grabbed a Poke Ball from her belt and tossed it into the air.

Zenith returned Oran to his Poke Ball and placed it back on her belt. Just like her battle with the Harris brothers, she felt an immense wave of relief and satisfaction wash over her. The battle had been long and hard, but in the end, she prevailed. She had immediately realized that the Fennekin was the weak link, and quickly took it out.

Zenith turned and saw that Sloane had finished her battle as well, and was celebrating with her Sandshrew. "Great job, Sloane!" she called out.

Sou looked up as the man she was to be paired with in the semi-finals challenged her with the line that he didn’t show any mercy, which was fine by her. She trusted in her team that they could pull through this battle, even with the thought of having to put up one of her pokemon lingering in the back of her mind. She swallowed hard, taking a breath as she reached to her belt. ”Good. Because I won’t either! We won’t lose!” she shouted as Digs was the one to appear in a flash of light. On the biker’s side came a Fennekin, which at first caught her by surprise until it dawned on her. ”That must be what he’s betting…” she thought, frowning a bit as she looked at the poor thing. It reminded her of a Fennekin in her past and as much as she wanted to reminisce, now was not the time for that.

”Let’s go Digs!” she said as the battle started.

Sou smiled in victory as she managed to top this biker at his own game. She trusted in her team and they did admirably despite the odds. She was almost sure something seemed a little off with the Pokemon as they seemed really powerful and some of her team had a hard time matching some of them. Nonetheless, she still managed to come on top and looked over at Zenith and Sloane who also seemed to be cheering in victory. From the way this was looking, they’d all be against each other. It reminded her of their battles back in that place with Greta.

While I didn’t like the idea of putting up any of my Pokemon, since you lost, I guess that means I don’t have to worry about it huh?” she said with a small grin on her face. Of course, this guy probably didn’t even care that he’d have to give up a Pokemon he probably didn’t want. It had to be the Fennekin and even if it wasn’t, whatever Pokemon it was would become a partner alongside her other Pokemon. As she awaited an answer, she checked her Pokedex as these battles were giving her Pokemon quite the bit of experience, and yet again, it was happening.

More Level-Up’s and stuff

(with all these level 30’s, i kinda get the feeling I should just get some of them close to that range. I like the idea of leveling my Pokemon up steadily, but at this rate, I’m not sure if keeping anything under 25 is going to be too goo for me lol. I’ll update my card a little later.)

The battle had been a true test for the whole team. Max did not leave the battle happy. This battle had only come at the cost battling a pokemon that was out of place. There was no honor in that. The girls felt pretty excited about there wins. Max however took a moment to stare the man down.
" I was hoping to have you at your best. Im disappointed." he growled looking past the biker to their leader.

The crowd exploded into chatter as this finalist round had seen all four of the Sons out of the tournament. It was now dark outside and the lights from the bridge above kicked on.

The confused bikers reacted poorly begining to push their way through the crowd in support of their teammates.

'.....what in the world was that??" The man said looking at the bikers.

"I guess you gotta honor the deal." He said reluctantly

Sloane took the Cyndaquil's Pokeball from her opponent. She clutched it carefully in her grip and looked at Parashu. "We'll treat it really well. This cyndaquil won't ever have to face this kind of treatment again." She heard Zenith's cheer and smiled at the girl. "Awesome job on your end as well!" Sloane called back. Sloane then returned her gaze to the biker and glared him down.

"You people disgust me. Treating Pokemon as if they're worthless just in case you lose is despicable! They have feelings too you know! You can't just treat them like they don't have them because they do and treating them as if they have no feelings permanently scars them!" Sloane dug her cane into the ground and let out a low growl. "You should be ashamed of yourself!"

Sloane's eyes flashed with immense rage, her own abandonment feelings welling up as she yelled. She couldn't hold it back, even if she had wanted to, she just felt too much for that cyndaquil. For all these Pokemon. She felt Parashu tremble on her shoulder and paused, realizing she was scaring the Pokemon. She took a deep breath, calming herself down. Lifting up her cane, Sloane glared at the biker and pointed her cane's tip at his chest. "If I hear of this happening again, I will come and I will find you." With that, she turned and walked back to Max. She took another deep breath and gazed up into the night sky. A smile appeared on her lips as she watched the beautiful sky illuminate with stars that were barely visible because of the proximity to the city. Night was her favorite time of day after all. She smiled. These battles were really paying off. She glanced at her pokedex to see the pokemon's progress.
