Sou raised an eyebrow as Max appeared to be talking rather odd about his gym battle. He looked weird too when she was about to challenge Misty too now that she thought about it. She frowned a bit as he looked away. ”immmm….. I have no idea what you’re talking about but you’re acting weird you know.” she scratching her forehead a bit when Nurse Joy walked up to the group, warning them about possible thieves. She didn’t like the sound of this string of theft’s going in and the fact she told them about it probably meant it was Pokemon they were stealing maybe. She shook her head a bit, finally turning to Zenith who seemed to be in pretty high spirits, showing off her Cascade badge. Sou giggled a bit. ”It went great Zenith! I won mine too! Misty was even tougher then the Pewter City Gym Leader and the gym was really pretty too!” she said with excitement. She was smiling ear to ear, but quickly fell as Nurse Joy explained the theft’s and something about a bike gang. ”Out of curiosity…. where were we headed next…?” Sou asked.

"To the north," Nurse Joy said.

"North, huh?" Zenith said.

"Then we have our destination," Max said. "I've dealt with a biker gang or two in my days. They use poison types so if you have anything to combat that grab it before we leave."

Nurse Joy smiled. "Oh! If somehow you make it to the northern peak of the northern route stop in to say hi to Bill."

"Bill?" Zenith asked. Realization then hit her. "Oh, Bill, the creator of the Pokemon Storage System! That's right, he lives around this area. Well, I'll be right back, I'm gonna switch out some of my pokemon."

Zenith then headed into the Pokemon Center and brought her pokemon to the counter to be healed. Once they were ready, she went to the PC and switched out some of her pokemon.

After Zenith switched out her pokemon, she called out her Sandshrew and Spearow. She looked up their stats in her PokeDex, and saw that they were both female. "You're both girls, huh? Alright, then. Hm, what to name you two...." She then smiled. "I know! Spearow, what do you think of the name Aria?"

Spearow thought for a few moments, then nodded in agreement.

"Great!" Zenith said She then turned to Sandshrew. "And Sandshrew, how about.... Dagger for you? Since when you evolve into Sandslash, you'll have long, powerful claws that are sharp like daggers, as well as quills?"

Sandshrew smiled and nodded her head.

"Alright!" Zenith said. "C'mon, let's go rejoin my friends."

Dagger walked beside Zenith while Aria sat on Zenith's shoulder as she approached Max and Sou.

"Alright, I'm ready." Zenith said.

Sloane made her way into the Pokemon Center right as the decision to head north was made. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. What exactly had happened while she was at the gym? Shrugging it off, Sloane walked to the PC and tapped her chin as she thought it over. She wanted to work with Egeking some more but she also wanted Ascalon and Orna back. Even so, Immortality had just evolved and Sloane wanted to make some use of that. Sloane perked at the mention of poison types. She knew Immortality wouldn't do well against those, but she had Pokemon that would. Finally deciding what Pokemon she wanted, Sloane made a quick swap.

She sent out the three and bent down to them. Sloane pulled the badge out of her pocket and showed it to them. "Sorry about the wait in the PC, but look what I got!" Ascalon roared in approval, with Orna and Parashu giving smiles. "And the Kimono girls sent me my walking stick. It's been very nice to use it so far." Sloane unclipped her Pokeballs from her belt. "Okay, Ascalon, Orna, I'm going to return you for now." She returned the charmeleon and graveler to their Pokeballs then looked at Parashu. "Let's go, Parashu." "Sandshrew!"

Sloane walked over to the group and gave them a thumbs up. Leaning on her staff, Sloane said, "I'm ready to head north when you guys are."

"Sounds good" He smiled trying to get back to training. "I wrote down some notes about Bill. In case I met him." Max spoke walking out of the Pokemon Center.

Cleffa jumped out of the pokeball. The beaming little pokemon had grown so strong in the last couple of battles. The group walked the long route towards Route 24. As they walked Max tried to spark up conversation.

"If you had to pick one water pokemon ..from any region what would it be?" he smiled looking at Zenith, Sloane and Sou.

Sloane leaned a bit more on her walking stick and thought it over for a moment. There were four water Pokemon she could think of right off that she'd want.

"That depends. If we're talking starters included, then I've got four options. The first one on the list would probably be Greninja, or any member of its evolutionary line really. I do want to be a dark type specialist, so Greninja would be an ideal dark type because of its moveset and ability Protean. Second on my list would most likely be Buizel. I've always loved the little guy and, while I don't think I'd evolve it I'd love to be able to have one as a pet or partner or something. Thirdly would be the oshawott line. I'm a big fan of those guys too just because they're so darn cute and powerful. Lastly, probably the sharpedo line and once again that has to do with the whole dark type thing."

Sloane gazed out over the route. Parashu stayed close to her side as they walked. Her knee throbbed just a little bit, but Sloane decided to ignore it for now. It was just adjusting to the walking stick.

Zenith looked around as they came out onto Route 24. "It's beautiful around here," she said.

"If you had to pick one water pokemon... from any region what would it be?" Max asked, looking at Zenith, Sloane and Sou.

"Favorite water-type pokemon? Hm..." Zenith said. "Well, for me, it's a tie between Walrein and Floatzel. I really like both of them a lot. It's hard to pick just one. But if I absolutely had to pick one... I'd probably go with Walrein."

Sou sighed a bit as Max jumped into the conversation, saying that was there destination after all. There was a saying she wanted to remember at the time that had something to do with jumping from one danger to another, but couldn’t remember it for the life of her. She wasn’t surprised that Max had said he’s dealt with other biker gang’s in the past, but that didn’t mean this one would be the same as the others. They were in a different region after all! ”Guess I can’t say I’m surprised about that…” she thought when Nurse Joy smiled and mentioned for them to say hi to some fellow named Bill if they made it. ”Bill..?” she said, cocking her head to the side when Zenith spoke up almost in realization. She mentioned that he was the creator of the Pokemon Storage System which caught her a little by surprise.

”Whoa…” Sou said as it really hit her then. ”Someone that important lives to the north of here where all these biker gang’s are suppose to be?” she said as she caught Sloane in the corner of her eye. She was switching out some of her Pokemon as Zenith was and thought it would probably be a good idea for her to do the same. ”I guess I’ll do a switch too then. Some of my friends could use some air” she said with a smile as she headed over to the PC to make her switch.

Sou smiled as she transferred two Pokemon out and rotated two new ones into her team. Once she was done with that she went over to where everyone was standing and smiled. With that, they were headed on the long road North. Sou was lost in her thoughts as she walked, but was startled out of them as Max finally spoke up. He had asked them a question along the lines of picking any water pokemon out there. Sou found herself pondering on that question for a little longer then she thought when it came to her. ”Hmmm… any water pokemon? If I had to choose… well, I already have what may be my favorite in Squirtle… but if i had to choose another it has to be… a tie between Starmie and Vaporeon! I can’t choose just one. There’s a lot of really cool water types out there!” she said with a smile.

"All great choices really!" Max said taking a second to look at his favorite. "I think my response will be biased but my favorite water type is right here with us." He said picking up Marshtomp. As the water type climbed on his back. "I'm also a fan of Lapras and Vaporeon from this region."

The group continued down the path up Route 24. They couldn't know what was ahead of them but stopping a gang terrorizing the city was something they couldnt turn there backs on. As the reached they reached the entrance of Route 24 they noticed trainers all over the place. In the distance the trainers covered the impressive bridge covering the lake that flowed through the area.

A man with a bull horn stood in the middle of the walkway leading to the bridge.
"Come one, come all the to the greatest trainer challenge in all of Kanto. Trainer Bridge is a world famous trainer challenge! The current leader of the bridge has put her foot down and said no more trainers can pass. To make it over this bridge you will need to earn it!"
