As Neith exploded at me, I cringed, and tried to keep a straight face. But I would be lying if I said that didn't hurt. When Amy made her way I over, I expected the worst for a moment, however, was relieved when what she had to say was a lot more comforting.

"I understand." I explained, trying to hide any hurt I felt, "Truth is, I never asked for this, and Rowan knew from the beginning I had no idea what I am doing. He talked about looking out for my team, and I've tried to base it off that, but it got to the point where looking out for the rest of my team involved sending one of them away for the time being."

"I get that this can't always be the way to go about it. This whole situation just took me by surprise, and it seemed like there were no better options. If he came with us, and we got attacked, I get the feeling he would get to safety and film the whole thing instead of helping us." I continued, "I'm just trying to take this one day at a time, but so far it isn't working as well as I would have hoped... I will talk to Neith later, once we both have some time to calm down."


We were escorted into a nearby building, then into a large elevator, taking us to one of the top floors. When the doors opened, we walked out into a room with a large table, covered in an absolute banquet of food. At one end stood a man who looked to be in his late twenties in a sharp suit.

"Take a seat." the man said, "The name is Davis Thomas, but you can call me Dash." (@Rival Max, Dash is all yours)

Hugo watches the footage and takes it in, before addressing you.

"I believe what you have to say, and this footage is incredible, however there is a problem..."

Hugo sighed then continued.

"Because this attack is so recent, and the police are investigating it, we are legally not allowed to publish any footage or photographs from this attack until the police have seen this footage and inspected it to make sure there is nothing in here that will jeopardize the investigation." Hugo explained, "The best I can offer you is this. I will buy this footage off you now, but it has to be at a discounted rate. 50% of what I would pay normally. This is because I am taking a gamble. I need to take this to the police first, and they could have it processed in a day or a week. If it takes too long, this footage is borderline useless as the attack will be old news. If we decide to show it, I will forward you an email with the broadcast time and channels, so you can see it, and I'd be interested in receiving more footage from you if you see more things like this."

"In addition to this, I would like to record an interview with you, right now, which would air when the footage airs. How does that sound?"

Renny paused listening to Hugo explain what was happening. Did Hugo not understand what was going on? If he refused to air this information and someone else who didn't even know about Team Galatic ran into them they could be hurt. Renny understood the rules perfectly but felt like sometimes the truth needed to come before all of this. His footage and potential all footage he submitted would now be put on the burner for what amounted to bureaucracy.

"I just gave you a clip of Team Galatic making an appearance here in Sinnoh to capture one of the lake trio. It seems to me this proof right here would be something that would be important to the people of Sinnoh. I mean the lady working your front desk thought they were a sports team. Aren't you obligated to warn the people of Sinnoh?" Renny asked a little confused

" Also, I don't think Id be the one to interview. The people I was traveling with are far more interesting than I am. If answering some questions will get you cut through some of the red tape then I will oblige you on this matter. However, I do not want to be paid at this moment. When you verify what I gave you legitimate contact me. At that point, I will negotiate the terms. I may not ask for money. My footage may come at the cost of information since I am seeking the answers to why I am here." Renny said staying firm on the issue.

Dash who was more focused on his newest invention paused

" And the result of their little tournament? Do we have that data collected? I hope those trainers were able to do what we sent them out there to do." Dash said his eyes never leaving the keyboard were hear he was typing code.


Dennis paused
" Not yet sir, however I do have the feed which I have uploaded to Download 2 sir. I am going to double check on the food but we should be ready to go."

He paused

"Do you need anything else?... Sir?"

Dash didn't say much.
" Just make sure the battle simulators are all prepped. I have got the rest."

Dennis closed the door behind him.

Dash smiled
"Download do you see what they are attempting? Using a bypass to send a message."

A hologram of Porygon Z lights up before him.
"They are using a base model, sir. A Porygon 1 which so far seems to be above average. Should I interrupt the message?"

Dash shook his head watching a video of the trainers arguing with each other.
"No, these trainers already seem skeptical of us. The best way to avoid that is to disarm them before they even start."


A few minutes later the team is lead into the finest dining hall with a banquet fit for kings. As they make their way in Dash waits for them. He takes the head of the table seat but stands. As they sit down the row of waiters stands patiently for orders from Dash.

"Take a seat." the man said, "The name is Davis Thomas, but you can call me Dash." Dash says with a smile on his face

His eyes scanning over the room stopping on Sophie for a brief moment.

"It is my pleasure to have here. Sorry for the delay in what I can imagine is the start of the most important journey of your life. I actually knew of your arrival beforehand, I have been in contact with Rowan and thought it would be best to welcome you myself." Dash paused

" It is my understanding that you have all traveled a very long way to be here. Something that I might be able to relate to. It is your journey here through wormholes that caught my attention. You see here at Dash Corp. We may on the surface be providing the world with help tech but beyond that, we are in the information gathering business. The topic of travelers from other worlds is something that has been showing up all over the deep web here. I have used my considerable wealth to control all data output. Your presence here could be a danger to you if some of the more colorful characters in our world were to find out. I have done that for a specific reason though. Not to put to fine of a point on it. I need your help." Dash waved to the men in suits who each walked up to the trainers with a box that was wrapped nicely with a box.


Inside the box, the trainers found a new Poketech device. Its color pattern matched that of Porygon. "Download 3 Pro" was printed on the back.

"That is the newest model of the Poketech pro. That machine has functions you wouldn't believe. Functions for checking a pokemon's EV/IV levels, a battling simulator which I will address in a moment and the newest feature. This device can be used to track energy. In specific, it can help us study any wormholes you may come across. By agreeing to take one you will be agreeing to share the data with us. Of course the data will be limited to information that we deem necessary to study the wormhole anomalies. With your help it will make it easier for us to find a solution to getting you all back home."

"I understand your concern, however that is the sad nature of logistics and bureaucracy." Hugo explained, "You are right, we have the responsibility to report this. However it would be illegal for us to not go through the due processes, and would result in the loss of our broadcasting license, and if that happened, then we would not be able to report anything. The best we can do is work with the system as efficiently as possible."

"As for the interview, ideally, I would love to chat to the rest of your group, however I leave in a matter of hours for Snowpoint City to interview somebody there, and doubt I would have time to organize an interview of that caliber. If I got you to answer some questions, it may speed up the processing of the video by the authorities though. We can have you in front of the camera in half an hour, and be done in enough time that it and your footage are submitted for processing before I leave, and ready to air at a moments notice."

As Dash spoke to us, I couldn't help but feel like he looked at me for a slight second longer, however didn't know why. As he handed us the box with the Poketch Pro, one question came to mind.

"What information do you deem necessary to study the wormholes?" I asked, "Will it be constantly sharing out location with you, or only when it detects wormholes? And what is the range of the wormhole detection?"

Matthias entered the house, determined to prove that this 'Davis' guy was up to no good.

He planned his elaborate escape. There was no way he was going to suckered into anything. He was on the ball, he was alert....

Matthias saw the spread of food on the table and all other thoughts escaped his head.

When Davis invited him to take a seat he sat down and started eating.

He had never experienced a feast like this before, he wasn't sure what to take first, so he took a big serving of everything.

Davis was discussing something, but Matthias was in the middle of a poached something delicious, topped with whipped something else equally delicious.

After his third plateful he realised that he hadn't made a dent in the massive feast in front of him, but was nearing a brand new sensation. He was almost full.

He had heard some words being thrown around and inquired around a large doduo Drumstick.

"Munch.. slurp... wormholes? Can I get a doggy bag? Or how about a big tupperware container. I want to take as much of this as possible? Hmm... crunch, munch... Poketch Pro? So long as I can take a big box of leftovers! No worries."

Amy offered Sophie a comforting smile as she explained her side of things. She pat Sophie's shoulder and said, "Hey, you're learning. Taking it one day at a time is the best way to do it, in my opinion. And I trust your judgment. If you thought it was better off to send him away, then so be it." Amy lowered her voice and added, "I've never really liked him anyway." She gave Sophie one more pat then said, "But yeah, talk to Neith later. She obviously has a higher opinion of Renny than we do so her perspective might be valuable for future insight in how to handle his... attitude and aspect on life."

Amy followed after the group as they entered Davis' domain. The buffet made her stomach growl and she was very tempted to dig in just like Matthias. It all looked so good. Amy shook her head and tried to maintain her focus. She continued to scan the room. The waiters, the personal assistant, and Davis himself could all be threats if they didn't listen to what he had to say or acted out. Amy took a bite of some of the food so as to look a bit less suspicious. She listened carefully and narrowed her eyes. How exactly did he know they were from another world? He claimed it was from the deep web but they had barely been here a day. Had someone already leaked out their information? A list of suspects quickly ran through Amy's head. Most of the group she had seen for the past few days. Amy would love to have suspected Renny, given she could tell this guy was all about getting his big scoop even if it meant throwing others under the bus. He had a laptop too so it was possible. But it also could be that Lucas fellow or perhaps it was someone else. That thug from the cafe or any witnesses to their initial appearances. Amy sighed and returned her focus to the matter at hand. That could be a subject for another day.

Amy took a couple more bites of food before glancing at the Poketch Pro box that was placed in front of her. It looked very similar to her X-Transceiver. The X-Transceiver was practically useless here, but it meant a lot to her. She'd hate to replace it with some sort of bugged wormhole tracking device. While both devices had been gifts, the X-Transceiver was something of much more emotional value. Amy pondered it for a second before deciding she'd just change the wrist she wore it on, and if it became a bother she'd keep it in her bag.

Amy glanced up at Sophie's question. She had had similar thoughts. She wasn't exactly keen on being tracked through a region, especially by some third party she was already suspicious of. "Yeah, no offense, but this sounds a lot like a bag guy from my world who used X-Transceivers to gather data on trainers for his plot for world domination," Amy added, showing the device on her wrist. "I've yet to really be given a reason to trust you other than you can "get us home" with this research but anyone can say that and not actually mean it."

After writing up a simple SOS with all the necessary details, Neith continued to follow the group at a distance. She briefly considered leaving altogether, but she needed to meet with this Davis. He was the best lead for Binary yet. However, Neith wasn’t going to let Sophie think she had forgiven her; as the group was escorted into the building, Neith made a point of ignoring Sophie entirely.

Upon entering Davis’ meeting room, Neith took a quick look at the Banquet that a few of the other had already began to eat, but resolutely avoided touching anything. Like Matthias had said, she didn’t know what this man might ask for in return, so best to owe him as little as possible. Not that the thief was taking his own advice, Neith noted as she saw him stuffing his face.

Dash began to talk, about how he knew about them through Rowan, and he was researching wormholes. Eventually, he showed them a new Poketch model. Neith instantly noticed that it was coloured like a Porygon. Random design choice? Or was Dash a fan of Porygons? Either way, it was looking more promising for Binary by the second.

As Sophie & Amy started asking questions, Neith found her mind wandering. She began to fidget, only half listening as she waited for the right moment to bring up her own request. She began to wonder what Renny was doing at this time. Was he waiting in the Center like he’d been told? Probably not. After all this was done, how would she be able to find him…? Wait, did he still have his pokedex on him? Maybe if she could send messages to Rowan, it could also work for the other dexs too? Yet another thing to add to the list of things to do once this conversation is over.

Kinnie had been busy surveying their surroundings when a fight broke out between Renny, the camera-obsessed guy, and Sophie. After Renny left, Neith had begun yelling at Sophie about her actions, and also strayed from the group. Kinnie had been sceptical of Sophie's methods when she and Amy had left Matthias - Blonde Boy - in the hands of the large aggressive man outside the professor's laboratory. However, the fight seemed to stem from insubordination and lack of cooperation. Kinnie thought back to her father's teachings; while it was always best to rely solely on oneself, teamwork was paramount while in group settings. If a team did not work in cohesion, then each team member would essentially be a solo traveller grouped with other solo travellers, which provided far more disadvantages than advantages. When members of a group worked in tandem, the group could accomplish far more than a solo traveller. Such as in water polo.

Kinnie stuck to the borders and only reconvened when the man in the suit started leading them inside the enormous building and towards the mysterious stranger who wanted to see them. Kinnie felt immediately as if she was being watched, which was a feeling that turned her stomach. There were many advanced looking gadgets and machines throughout the facility, but she did not have time to study them. Soon, they were brought to a room with a prepared feast.

The food was plentiful, and Kinnie had only seen so much in the same place a few times in her life. It was a sign of extravagance and wealth when one person fronted such a feast, which Kinnie kept at the back of her mind. When the box made its way around, the girl inspected the gadget that they were each being offered. She picked it up and rotated it in her hands, curious about its purpose as "Dash," the man who was obviously in charge of this building and its company, explained a bit about them. Kinnie didn't understand most of what he was saying, but watched as some of the others attached them to their wrists, and did the same with hers. It was a little heavy, given that she was not used to wearing anything around her wrists, and concluded that if it was going to get in her way, she would keep it in her bag.

While Matthias began to gorge himself on food, Kinnie's eyes wandered. She spotted Neith, the trainer with the strange pink and blue pokémon, and thought back to her outburst. She could see that the girl was distracted, and mostly out of pure curiosity, closed the space between them, all the while being careful not to make a sound while she approached.

"You are a tech enthusiast," she affirmed. It wasn't quite a question, but it was her attempt at generating conversation. "I do not know what this is." She extended her wrist close to Neith's face.

Tony stuck towards the middle of the group, simultaneously trying to stay as far from Sophie and Neith as possible. After seeing the outbursts, he figured his best choice for avoiding being part of one was to stay either as far from the group as possible, or as far from the individuals as possible, whichever was easier at the time. In this case, it was the latter.

He saw the food and ate a little, but not much, just to be courteous. As everyone received a poketch, he examined the one placed in front of him. He never was one for watches or anything remotely similar, and he wasn't super technologically inclined. Sure, he had looked at his parents' pokenavs, and the company recently released the pokenav plus, but he knew very little about them, and this was a completely alien technology to him.

As Dash spoke, a couple questions sprang to mind, but just before he asked them, Sophie and Amy were already on it, so he decided to wait for answers before seeing if anything jumped out to him that he felt needed further elaboration. He let his eyes wander, though he kept his main focus towards either the watch or Dash himself.

Renny took a moment to think. It wouldn't be a problem to answer some questions if it was going to speed up the process.
" I will answer some questions for the sake of transparency." he paused

"Actually I think I have an idea for a fair payment that we can discuss afterward." He said with a light smile

Renny thought for a moment about asking for cucumber water but then quickly changed his mind. He couldn't help but think of how that might actually taste. However, he knew that in movies people normally got a prize or offer for sitting down to converse with others.
" If it's possible I would like some freshly squeezed orange juice and a muffin. If neither of those is available I would like a glass of water."

Dash listened carefully to what the young trainers had to say. He noted which of the group spoke up and which choose to stuff their faces. One of the trainers was going to town on the food and it threw him off for a second.

The group's leader spoke up first.

"What information do you deem necessary to study the wormholes?" I asked, "Will it be constantly sharing out location with you, or only when it detects wormholes? And what is the range of the wormhole detection?" ask Sophie

The first question was a fair question. There were of course concerns of a big brother type situation playing out.

" This may sound a little unsettling Miss Reed but the Pokedex you carry now has a GPS built into it. They were installed years ago because of an incident that happened in another region with some trainers going missing. It's actually the same way for all modern smart devices we use here in our world. If you are asking will my staff or I know at all times where you are. Then the answer is no. I have installed safety measures that will allow for you to contact either the professor, police or myself for assistanance only if you deem choose that. However even that has a range. If you are deep in a cave the signal will not necessarily go through. " Dash paused

" The range of the device is a couple of miles. As soon as it detects an anomaly it will start transmitting data. This device can detect both fluctuations in the energy and radio waves. If you come into contact with one of these wormholes the more data you get the better. " Dash looked around at the trainers eating, some seemed kinda bored

After he answered Sophies questions another one of the group spoke up. This time though, less friendly and more of a suspicious forceful tone.

"Yeah, no offense, but this sounds a lot like a bag guy from my world who used X-Transceivers to gather data on trainers for his plot for world domination," Amy added, showing the device on her wrist. "I've yet to really be given a reason to trust you other than you can "get us home" with this research but anyone can say that and not actually mean it."

Dash smiled at the blunt nature of this trainer
" There is something about you that reminds me of an old friend. You got this whole paranoid, stubborn ill tear your head off vibe thing going on. The answer to your quarry is simple. You do not have to trust me. If you do not want to help me track data and use the state of the art poketech device you can leave it on the table. It's not a house arrest band." He said with a sarcastic smile

"I also have not guaranteed to get you home yet. Breaking through the time-space barrier isn't something I can just do freely. It's not as if I can just pull a portal gun out of my jacket. I'm fresh out of Isotope 322. I am sharing this tech with you all because 7 heads are better than one. Each of you has a choice. If you choose not to take the device there are no hard feelings, but if you do take it. You are accepting that we will have access to data stored on there." Dash responded

When the boy stuffing his mouth spoke up.
" No matter what you choose Ill have them wrap you up a couple of boxes for you."

Dash looked at the group.
" I will give you some time to decide what you want. Then if you are willing I would like to show you all something I have been working on that I think you will find helpful. Now I apologize that I can not be there in person but I will have my assistant standing by with key cards ready to escort you to the battle sim labs to test out our new battle simultors on the 5th floor."

With that said what they thought was the actual man got a little blurry and then flashed out. An armored Porygon had been projected a hologram and it rolled into a storage space in the wall that opened up.

Neith was snapped out of her thoughts as a Poketch was shoved in her face. The girl who caught the Shinx earlier had appeared next to her, and was brandishing her arm at Neith. “Uhh, it’s a kind of watch.” She replied, leaning away slightly. Is it normal to get this close to people where she comes from? “It can tell the time, but can also do other cool stuff like keep track of your pokemon’s stats and condition, display a map with whatever marking you want, or even work as notepad or a coin flipper. You just turn it on like this.” Neith tapped the power switch on Kinnie’s Poketch and the screen flared to life.

As Neith was distracted by Kinnie, she barely noticed Dash answering the others question, until apparently done talking, Dash promptly disappeared, leaving only a Porygon behind. Neith gave a start. A projection? This was way more advanced than Lysandre’s Holo Casters. Neith barely had time to process that thought before the Porygon rolled back into a space in the wall and disappeared.

Wait, Dash was gone. And she’d yet to ask him about Binary. Crap. Neith looked around quickly, looking for someone who looked official enough. Then, walking up to the nearest assistant quickly began to ask. “Excuse me sir, is it possible to get a message directly to Dash? I have something I need to talk to him about, but the Hologram disappeared before I had the chance. And if not, is there anyone who does tech support that I could talk to?”
