Time for a shocking double team!
The name for the next Japanese TCG set has been revealed to be Tag Volt!
This will be the 9th main TCG set in Japan. It will be made up of 95 cards. This will be the first set that will use the new Tag Team Pokemon GX mechanic. So far only one Tag Team Pokemon GX has been revealed which was Pikachu & Zekrom GX at Worlds 2018.
No other details about the set has been revealed. It is unsure if this will continue on the theme of previous sets which featured a region. So far all regions have been represented in the TCG except for Unova and Kanto. Though, if we were the base this off of Pikachu & Zekrom GX then it could be hinted that Tag Volt will focus on Unova.
Tag Volt will most likely become America’s February 2019 set. The February English set will have over 191 cards. Along side with Tag Volt, this English set will most likely feature cards from Dark Order sub-set. Dark Order will release in Japan on October 5th.
Tag Volt will be release in Japan on December 7th.
