Pokemon.com has announced the Standard 2015 TCG format to be Boundaries Crossed-on. This means that only cards from Boundaries Crossed and sets printed afterwards must be used for Standard competitive play in tournaments. Also included in Standard format will be McDonald’s Collection and Black Star Promo Cards: BW55 and higher, XY01 and higher. This format will be in full effect starting on September 3, 2014.
Some of the cards that will be rotated out will included: Rayquaza EX, Super Rod, Level Ball, Dark Patch and Sableye. N will be staying in Standard format thanks to a Black Star Promo reprint for Pokemon Leagues during the Fennekin Season.
Also starting on September 3rd will be the new Expanded format. This special format will allow players to compete in tournaments using cards from older sets. The sets that will be allowed in the Expanded format will be Black & White and on, McDonald’s Collection and Black Star Promo Cards: BW01 and higher, XY01 and higher.
