The #31evos Challenge is encouraging people to take a stab at Fakemon designs!

Check out a new art challenge that is sweeping the Pokémon community!

Have you ever wanted to design a Fakemon but never known where to start? Well here’s your chance! The 31evos challenge is a Fakemon design challenge created by Don.Fakemon, the brain behind Pokémon Eco and Hazard. As a guy who designs Fakemon on the regular to increase awareness about the environment, Don knows a lot about what it takes to design Fakemon. So in order to give people something to while they are staying at home, he created the #31evo challenge.

This challenge took place over the course of 31 days, where fans used prompts posted by Don on his story to design a Fakemon. This starts with the body shape, the eyes, ears, mouth, tail, etc. From there the artist is to incorporate a type and then is given options to include wings, horns, and more to make each Fakemon design more unique from the rest. Eventually artists will get to draw the evolutions, a G-Max form, and more! It’s a really cool challenge that allows for participants to flex their creative muscles while still staying at home.

Below are some examples of the different Fakemon designed during the challenge:

The middle stage evolution from @don.fakemon ‘s #31evos challenge has returned! This was the point when I really tried to sell the concept of the Minimi line by including things that represent me, such as the type and color of clothing I usually wear to my interests, like paint palettes wings to symbolize my love for art and a magnifying glass on his tail to represent my future profession in forensics. #pokemon #fakemon #pokemonart #fakemonart #nintendo #nintendoswitch #anime #animefreak #nerd #geek #gaming #videogame #videogames #art #illustration #digitalart #artist #artistsoninstagram #fanart #pokemonswordshield #pokemonswordandshield #fablefakemon #ground #groundtype #dragon #dragontype #minime

Medimi is the second stage in Animefreak9696’s Fakemon design. Inspired by the concept of “mini-mes”, this Fakemon is said to resemble the person that owns it and as such this Medimi resembles Animefreak9696 himself. As a result Fakemon artist it makes sense that this Medimi would have painter’s palettes for wings! Such a cool and creative design!

Be sure to look at every picture in this post by hhh.fakemon since it is an overview of all 31 days’ worth of prompts. It really gives insight into their design process and shows how much a design can change and evolve over 31 days of refinement and alterations.

Delik is Ender.Trenton’s end result for the 31evos challenge. Be sure to check out Ender.Trenton’s profile as well since in their story highlights they detail their design process behind Delik on a day by day basis. It’s a really cool process that adds a lot more personality to Delik and its evolutions.

Here’s Cerro_art’s piece showing their fakemon, Draja, using its new signature move. Orbs field looks like a really cool and powerful signature move that it sure to give some enemies trouble. Plus it really fits the eyes motif Draja has going on!

Zarche_draws gives us not only the overview of their own Fakemon design process, but also highlights many of the other designs that came to life throughout the whole process! It’s really cool seeing how these fakemon started and where they ended up and a great way to bring the community together to celebrate a really cool project.
