Calling all Artists for the Updated PokéRap Project!

If you love Pokémon, no matter your skill level, consider joining!

On July 17, 2020, a user by the name of NintenDweeb introduced to the world a passion project, to create an updated version of the Pokérap with all 893 Pokémon. Launching the Twitter account, UPokerap, and later on a Discord server that served as the hub of activity, NintenDweeb is on a quest to find a different artist for every Pokémon.

The project has made a lot of progress thus far. As of writing this article, there have been 263 completed pieces thus far, 328 other Pokémon claimed. Though it is important to note that these numbers do include alternate forms like Alolan forms or Pokémon like Lycanroc that have Midday and Midnight variations. Still, while that might seem like a lot, there are a fair number of Pokémon still available so it’s worth checking out. And if you’re favorite Pokémon has been claimed but hasn’t been drawn yet, it’s possible you might be able to trade with the artist who did claim that Pokémon.

You can check out full details for the project below:

Personally, I’ve already joined and will be taking on Spritzee for my piece. Several other popular artists in the Pokémon community have also joined the project such as Madame Quin, Penpeaches, BudgieGryphon, and AConnor_72. And if you’re wondering what people have contributed thus far, here’s a sampling of the pieces already submitted!
