Time to travel in time for Pokemon GO!
Niantic has announced that Celebi will be coming to Special Research Tasks. Soon trainers in Pokemon GO will be take part in tasks that will get them closer to catching Celebi!
Starting on August 20th, the Special Research Task for Celebi will become available in Pokemon GO. These tasks will test trainers in their ability to capture Pokemon, using items and other things. Along the way you will receive many different useful items, XP and encounter special Pokemon. The end goal is the chance to capture Celebi!
Those who have already capture Celebi in Pokemon GO from GO Fest will be given a different reward. They will get plenty of Celebi Candy to help power up the Time Traveler Pokemon.
Haven’t finished you Mew Special Research Task? Don’t worry! If you are on the third level of your Mew Research Tasks then you will be allow to start working on your Celebi Special Research. You can work on both Special Research at the same time.
Expect to see plenty of Pokemon from the Johto region as this task starts.
That isn’t all! To get you into the Johto spirit there will be plenty of cool things to wear! Trainers can get a special Celebi shirt in the shop. This shirt will be free for everybody. You can also purchase Pokémon HeartGold and Pokémon SoulSilver Trainer avatar items. These items will be unlock according to your Johto medal progress.
