July’s CoroCoro has begun leaking. The following contains spoilers, so if you plan on remaining out of the loop, read on at your own risk.
The first new image contains our two heroes, as well as Professor Kukui, along with our first newly revealed Pokémon, Nekkoala, the Half-Awake Pokémon. Nekkoala is a Normal Type Pokémon, and has the ability Definite Sleep, which prevents it from being affected by status moves other than Sleep. Its name possibly comes from “Nekko” (which translates to Stump) and Koala.
The second and final new Pokémon, which we’ve seen very briefly before is Iwanko. This is the dog-like Pokémon, probably based off of a Shiba-Inu, that we saw in the first reveal trailer, and is the Puppy Pokemon. Iwanko is Rock-type, and has the possible abilities of Keen Eye, or Vital Spirit, though it is unclear which ability goes to which Pokémon, perhaps Gender or habitat. The magazine then goes on to say that the three starters, Litten, Popplio, and Rowlet, and the dog Pokémon Iwanko, all hide a secret.
Then, in movie news, we get information that attendees to the new movie will receive a Pokémon Ga-Ole disc, which contains a QR Code making Magearna available in the new games. Magearna has the Soul Heart ability, as well as the new move Fleur Cannon. Magearna also has Flash Cannon, Lucky Chant, and Helping Hand. In addition, the Greninja event at the movie based on the Pokémon Elections will come with the ability Protean, with the moves Hydro Pump, Gunk Shot, Mat Block, and Happy Hour.
That’s it for now, but it’ll be interesting to see what the English Translation brings, as well as the gameplay during Nintendo’s presentation at E3.
