Nintendo Australia have revealed the dates and locations for the Video Game Championships Regionals competition to be held this year.
They have also revealed that players can now earn Championship Points by participating in tournaments throughout the year, which will go towards an invitation to the World Championships. In order to earn Championship Points, players must have registered a Player ID to their Trainer Club account and opt in to the Play! Pokemon program. With Championship Points, players can compete throughout the season at Regional, National and now Premier Challenge events to earn these points that build toward coveted World Championships invitations. Premier Challenges allow specially approved Tournament Organisers to run video game events that provide a good opportunity for players to enjoy playing Pokémon with other fans and gain valuable experience and Championship Points at smaller events in the lead up to the Regional and National Championships.
