Lore-wise, the sea was not Lugia's original home. Lugia's home was Ecruteak City, at the Burned Tower, that got burned down, burn.

I have the urge to delve back into the bottomless pit that is Pokemon Lore and Secrets

But yea, i figured that. I still kind of wish Lugia was Water/Psychic

Yeah it's one of those subtle details people tend to miss but unlike the vast majority of other legendaries, Ho-oh and Lugia have never been depicted fighting except for the original concept trailer for pokemon movie 15 and maybe in the intros of the some of the other movies. But generally they're depicted as people co-existent deities.

My favorite generation of legends, those two always seemed so peaceful to me. When i first played through my copies of Gold and Silver, i didn't even catch them. I let em be.

In Gold days, I raised both Ho-oh and Lugia to 100 and just unleashed all kinds of pain in Stadium 2. XD

And yeah, the Lugia song can really sit in your head all day.
