I think most of us that play Skyrim are pretty good at picking it there. If not, it's easy to get used to.

As fun as it is to lockpick doors and stuff in video games (and for the fact usually heaps of great stuff is behind them!), I'm not really all that skilled in doing it in real life. I also don't have the tools for it either. I definitely know the way it works in Fallout is definitely not how it works in real life. The only reason why I haven't really gone out to learn it is because I already have the keys to places I need to access and everything else is, well, trespassing.

Although if I was really good at lockpicking, there is one place I've always been curious about. There is a train station near me and there's one small isolated building away from everything else. I've lived here for 30 years and never ONCE have I seen what the inside looks like. The windows were covered up years ago, there's one large metal door to it, and it looks like the entrance is elevated so as to let it be level with the back of a truck (implies it was probably for loading and unloading something at times but I've never seen that happen. I have always wondered just what the fudge is in there. Probably nothing, but the curiosity has killed me for decades.

    Right here:

This thing. What could it possibly be used for? The darn thing has been a mystery for eons. It's like that special super-secret area in a video game that has something amazing inside but you need some crazy key or secret code / preorder thing like that to ever hope to get inside. Give me a fifteen second peek inside and it would be therapeutic. Seriously. XD

And if someone were to catch me and ask what I was doing, I could just come up with a silly excuse and say I thought it was a restroom. XD

SO the way lockpicking works in real life is similar to how video games portray is but not quite. You know how in movies they always use bobby pins? It's because of the shape of the edges of bobby pins resemble how the pins look inside of doors and there was a time when that would actually work. However locks have been remade to prevent you from being able to use bobby pins. Nowadays you need a pick and a tension wrench. So first you want to stick the tension wrench in the keyhole. Again this is similar to the bobby pin shape because if you'll recall bobby pins have a flat bottom. Then you have to test which way the lock turns to unlock, usually you can tell by turning the tension wrench and feeling how much give each side has. The one with more give is the way you need to turn. Then apply slight torque to the lock through the tension wrench, this is to allow you to find the stubborn pin with the pick. Repeat these steps after pushing up each pin and there you go!

    *Sigh*

I tried to donate blood again today and as they were drawing blood for the iron test, I was feeling a tiny bit light-headed again so they decided I wasn't up for donating today. I really don't get it. I have bled out WAY more blood than that from just normal injuries with absolutely no problem at all, but it's something they do that causes that light-headedness. My guess is the way they try to vigorously squeeze and force it out of my finger is what causes it. Whenever I get a cut or something like that, I don't press and squeeze as hard as I can to get blood and guts all over the place. Whenever they do it, it's like "ugh, how much more do they need" and "do they really have to do that" and it kind of goes downhill from there.

They also had me as the last person on the list for today, so I wouldn't be able lie down as it would take too much time and it looked like they were already wrapping things up for the day. Ah well, I at least tried.
