Well I'm shy myself. Especially when it comes to bulking up the courage to ask a girl out. Even worse when they turn me down or insult me rather. Luckily the insult one was only once and way back in middle school. Iiiiii'm still just out for hopes of my first chance soon

I'm gonna reply to this by saying the few times I've actually started dating someone it never happened by saying "hey, let's go out". xD At first we'd start off as friends, and things would generally develop from there. By the time I was dating a person it would usually have already turned into something aha. But that's just my experiences because there's been mutual interest on both sides. Of course, there's been cases where I've had to reject someone, or I've been rejected as well. Being friends first works well for me, but people do differ. o:

On a semi-related note, I'm gonna see the premiere of the Celebrate Studio Ghibli movie marathon tonight with my boyfriend. :D They're starting with My Neighbour Totoro and I think the movie changes every few days or so. So we'll be eating dinner out in the city before the movie. Also we get a free A1 size poster. I'm so happy. xD
