Yeah it's powering up, but after it hits the Virgin Islands again (which they just need to evacuate. No one should be there riding out another storm like that again so soon after). I've seen charts and most are showing Jose's outer bands will reach the coasts and maybe some areas of SC, but it'll miss the US and not be another direct hit.

Yeah, St Martin was a total lose from what I heard. 95% or more of the island is just gone. Nothing left behind other than scraps and bad memories now. So sad to see all these images.

We're not going to have any islands left if these hurricane's keep this up.

I Googled some of these islands and it's disheartening to see the "before" pictures and what these places look like now...

Some of the tourist sites with all their flashy photographs have this illusion that makes it even look like nothing ever happened there and make it look and sound all inviting when in realty there's damage and rubble everywhere and there are people stuck there and unable to get back home. I don't recommend looking at these sites, it's a little eerie and disturbing. Sure, it's not their fault and they obviously haven't been updated yet, but it's unsettling nonetheless.

The sad thing about it all is it's gone in literally a blink of an eye.

It's barely going to hit here. We may get some rain and wind, but the hurricane is set to hit more Atlanta now. Not around here or SC. In fact it's still predicted we will lose power here just like they're predicting you might up there too the next few days. Tuesday I think it was predicted.

Yeah, I'm beginning to think all the boarding up we saw in Savannah might be overkill now, but things were looking pretty bad when we were still there on Friday. I can't blame them, though, I like being safe than sorry.

There might still be some wind and rain, but at least the likelihood of it throwing things around is much lesser now.

I don't think it would be overkill but I didn't see it. Savannah has A LOT of water in that area that could cause some major damage when combined with the hurricane.
