PMD Sky is my favourite. <3 I'm still hoping for another game to be made soon. Why, oh why, are they so much better than the main series? xD

It's the amount of time spent on them. They pump out a main series game practically every year whereas the side games are every three to four years so they have a lot more time to work on the side games.

You're probably right. Honestly I'd rather just have them stop making main games to focus on the PMD series. xD It's so much better! But then they'd probably also ruin that, too.

The story. They dedicate everything to making an interesting, funny, action-ish, and dramatic story. Can't forget the interesting, adorable, and funny characters xD. Then the soundtrack to go with it. It's amazing! It could bring a tear to anyone's eye. Such s combination is rare to see. The main series could learn from it. Recently it seems they have too. Stories have been a bit more in-depth and even some tracks have sounded vaguely similar the a PMDesque style.

I just get so attached to my partner throughout the story I can't bear to leave them at the end. ;O; I always cry my eyes out. PSMD was especially funny, I thought. xD Your partner was so bubbly it was great. And the soundtrack...yeah. It's always so epic! And you're right. The main games are taking the stories a little more seriously now, which is good to see. But I'm still not quite sure where they're trying to go with the series... They keep chopping and changing a lot of good things.
