Happened quite often, which was another good reason why I was happy not to live on campus.

Dorm rooms at my campus were like storage closets. Tiny windows, SUPER HOT, and I got to sleep (I didn't actually get any sleep that night though) in the same dorm building where three students died in a dorm fire a few years back. The bathrooms were abysmal. There was no way I could deal with that. I hate having filthy bathrooms. Which reminds me, the bathroom at home could really use a reapplication of some tile grout, but that's a big project and I haven't ever done it before.
Well to be far I don't live in Jersey. We have a downtown as well (which is closer to my side of campus so I go there a lot for like Jimmy Johns). Everything's really expensive though so I usually just stick to the mess hall. There's parties all the time here though. It's pretty much assumed by professors that you're out partying Friday and Saturday nights, and it's slowly becoming accepted for this to be a Thursday thing as well. Wednesday's still like a gray area because it can be but that doesn't mean it is. The only day off limits is Sunday for some reason.

Well that's another perk of my dorm, since I'm not in the high rises or shoeboxes, I have a suite style room. This means I get my own bathroom that myself, my roommate, and the people next door share with us. We take turns cleaning it too. I've heard horror stories about the high rise bathrooms. One time in one of the buildings they found mushrooms growing in the showers. Plus in the buildings with both genders in it, the guys can just walk down the steps to the girls's floors and that causes all kind of issues.
