I don't know why, but there's something about the Dunkirk movie trailer that interests me. I'm not really all that interested in the other stuff that's coming around this summer as far as movies go, but this one has some really big names behind it. Christopher Nolan. Hans Zimmer. The more I look into it, the more I want to see it.

Yep. Although I can honestly say I'm not too familiar with what exactly happened during that battle. It's been quite a long time since I've studied WWII.

This is very true. Sometimes movie trailers reveal all the best bits of the movie and you go to see it only to find the rest of it didn't really amount to much.

yup! It's an act now days to show people "what they want to see" and leave the boring parts or you to come watch. All just to wait for the best parts you saw in an ad or commercial

You were doing your job. You have nothing to be ashamed about and nothing to feel bad about. This sounds like one of those narcissistic, condescending, special douchebags that are the kinds of people that cut you off on the highway, cut in line, think they're cute when they lie, cheat, and steal, and act like it's all okay and they can treat anyone however they want. These people are not worth your time, breath, money, or aggravation. They are out doing the devil's work and they're trying to drag you down with them.

Xanthe, you are an AWESOME person regardless of what these kinds of special douchebags say to you. SHAME on that special douchebag for doing that to you, because I'd personally like to tie his underwear into a pretzel while he's still wearing it, dip it all in hot sauce, sprinkle some paprika on it for good measure, and then make good use of it for battling practice with a baseball bat that's actually made of cactus.

My mum was like "Maybe he had just come from a place where they'd treated her poorly because she was Asian" and I was like "Yeah I get that, but there's no excuse to treat ME poorly as a result of that when I was treating everyone the exact same." He should have backed off once I said "Actually I check everyone's bags. Want me to get a manager here to explain that to you?" but he didn't, so at that point, I don't care if he was having a bad day because you can't take that crap out on innocent cashiers. Like seriously.

Nah I'm not kidding I get accused of being racist all the time here based purely on my political beliefs and the fact that I'm a political science major. It's annoying yes, but more often than not when people accuse me of being racist I usually just make this expression.

I thought about giving my thoughts on the debate, but it wasn't worth it. Being said and done once I saw it. Ah well.

A wise decision, Xanthe. Friendly reminder I'm a trained debater in multiple formats. I may have trouble keeping my temper but I have years of practice under my belt when it comes to debates.

Yeah so the reason for that expression is because in my predominantly non-white almost entirely black high school, if I so much as said something that could be interpreted or misheard as something racist, I'd be accused of it.

Also STORY TIME. So as some of y'all may know I'm on the student senate at my college. So, the second or third week I think it was, we had an hour long speech given by a guest speaker telling us that prior to running for office all senators should take a test to see if they are diverse or multicultural enough. After question it basically boiled down to the fact that the lady didn't like that we had a predominantly white senate and wanted a more diverse representation, which peeved a bunch of us because it was pretty much saying just because of our skin tone we couldn't make proper decisions. It's reminiscent of what is happening at Berkeley College right now and ho boy that's just a crazy situation in it of itself.
