    It's all about being fair.
Im not sure how much of a chance you feel like he needs to given in his first week pumped out a slew of outrageous executive orders. Which included pushing the pipeline forword and removing all traces of climate change facts from government sites. In his second week he set up a racist travel ban, and purposed taxing products from mexico to make us pay for a wall. He opened an investigation into voter fraud telling the extreme half of the Republican base that 3 million illegals voting claiming states like California were just lettting whomsoever vote.

Stop me if im wrong but former president obama didnt start up his presidency like that.

@Rival Max To be fair, President Obama is a democrat and had a vastly different platform than trump does. Trump is at least doing what he promised, even if most of us don't actually support it. Obama, if I recall (I was only 10 at the time so forgive my flukes in memory) correctly, did not move on a lot of what his platform stood for until much later, if at all.

Oh, you aren’t wrong! I don’t support Trump, in fact, I can’t stand him. However, I do think it’s fair to give him the chance to prove himself. What he does with that chance is entirely different. I personally feel that he’s squandering it.

The major difference is that from the day Obama took office the House and Senate worked at shutting down every single item he purposed. They made it public knowledge that they weren't going to work with him. Trump on the other hand seems to have free reign of doing what he wants. That's why all of this is scary to anyone who didnt support him.

@Noblejanobii, that's pretty much my remembrance of things, as his presidency got further along it seemed that he was more concerned about his legacy than he was about helping the nation. His ACA ended up being the only part of his platform that he followed through with and he spent the last few months of his presidency doing everything he can to prevent Trump from dismantling it. I do remember his promise to fix the VA. I've got a few friends in the military who supported him because they thought he would follow through. I'm a bit foggy on this but IIRC he later claimed he never made such promises.

To be fair it's entirely possible that he was stonewalled on a lot of the things he wanted to actually do.

Oh yeah I totally understand it's possible all his efforts were stopped. But at the same time I think that it's important to note he's at least doing something.

The judicial system is only one system of government. It not a complete safeguard for the country. Its also not fair at all to compare Obamas presidency to Trumps with acknowledging that he was given zero room to move without fighting tooth and nail. Though I am baised I liked Obama. I voted for him twice and his second term was great to me.

Trump on the other hand, is geting stuff done but its the most extreme things he listed. One thing he did promise to fight against he has completely turned away from. He not only filled the swamp he created an even bigger one by appointing ceos of major banking companies to help run the country. That was one of his biggest points and now he works firmly for the people that he said Hillary did. He also had the opportunity to help the american people by brining down the costs of pharmaceutical. He didnt even negotiate prices to be lowered. The US pays more for drugs than almost any other place on the planet.

Yes, it is one system of government, but that's what checks and balances are for. The legislative branch can't do anything against executive orders but the justice department has already shown they are more than capable of fighting against it so I think it'll be just fine. And I compare him to Obama because that's the only president I can remember. I was 10 when he got elected so I wasn't exactly concerned with the Bush Administration prior to that. I'm just using him as a good comparison point because Obama is the only one I can remember. Cut me some slack, Max, I'm only 18 after all.

This is true and I recognize this is a valid point. I'm just saying he's getting stuff done. I'm not trying to discredit Obama in any way, I'm just saying it's possible Trump could turn out all right because I distinctly remember my teachers and parents complaining about Obama when he first got into office and for the most part that changed by the time he left. That's all.

Sorry Noble! There is tension with this issue. As I teach in a poor area with many latin students. Nothing against you of course. :)
