The judicial system is only one system of government. It not a complete safeguard for the country. Its also not fair at all to compare Obamas presidency to Trumps with acknowledging that he was given zero room to move without fighting tooth and nail. Though I am baised I liked Obama. I voted for him twice and his second term was great to me.
Trump on the other hand, is geting stuff done but its the most extreme things he listed. One thing he did promise to fight against he has completely turned away from. He not only filled the swamp he created an even bigger one by appointing ceos of major banking companies to help run the country. That was one of his biggest points and now he works firmly for the people that he said Hillary did. He also had the opportunity to help the american people by brining down the costs of pharmaceutical. He didnt even negotiate prices to be lowered. The US pays more for drugs than almost any other place on the planet.

Yes, it is one system of government, but that's what checks and balances are for. The legislative branch can't do anything against executive orders but the justice department has already shown they are more than capable of fighting against it so I think it'll be just fine. And I compare him to Obama because that's the only president I can remember. I was 10 when he got elected so I wasn't exactly concerned with the Bush Administration prior to that. I'm just using him as a good comparison point because Obama is the only one I can remember. Cut me some slack, Max, I'm only 18 after all.
This is true and I recognize this is a valid point. I'm just saying he's getting stuff done. I'm not trying to discredit Obama in any way, I'm just saying it's possible Trump could turn out all right because I distinctly remember my teachers and parents complaining about Obama when he first got into office and for the most part that changed by the time he left. That's all.
Obama had majority in both houses his first two years of presidency, just like Trump does now, I'm not saying he didn't have a difficult time, but it was the same complaint by the right back in '08 that Obama would be able to do anything he wanted as it is now by the left
This is what he did in his first two years
the economic stimulus, bringing the financial system back from the brink of collapse, rescuing two automakers, universal health care, sweeping reform of financial regulation, and major changes in student loan programs, among many others.
President Obama came into office after the housing market crash and the country entered a mini great depression. So I guess my confusion is why people are saying President Obama didnt do much in his first two years. It would be much more accurate to say that Obama spent almost his entire first term brining the country out of the crisis it was in.
