Math in high school was back and forth for me. Depending on what we were going over. Certain areas I was better in than others. I think the teachers made a big difference too as most classes do.

Yeeeep. If a teacher inspires your interest in a subject, they did a job well done. If they make you can't wait until the class is over and gone, then they're doing something wrong.

I can totally agree with that. I mean some teachers for me made me soooooo bored and made it so complicated to understand. While the very few made it funny, engaging, and did everything at an understandable pace. My PSG recent favorite was the psychology professor I had. He made the class so funny while keeping to his lesson plan. Last time I took it at a previous college. I woulda finished that class with a 30ish. So I got out of there while I could. This second time at a new college. Oh man it made it so much better xD.

I'd argue that calculus isn't difficult because calculus is difficult: it's difficult because teachers fail to explain the intuition behind it well enough. Once the intuitions are grasped, it becomes pretty straightforward to apply. One youtuber who does a great job with this is 3Blue1Brown, whose Essence of Calculus series is very good.

Everyone has their strong suits in courses. Some things just come easier to others and incredibly difficult to others. Like some canbe seriously difficult and some answers come easily as a snap of the fingers to some. Wish it were always that easy for myself, but alas. ''Tis not so simple.

That’s not untrue, though it’s also a function of approach, not just subject material. I’ve tutored in math, physics, and chemistry, and I frequently end up changing the tactics I use depending on student.

Very true. Sometimes it all depends on the tactic used to learn. I can't remember as it's been over 5 years now since I've been in any math class, but I used to have a different style to find certain methods or variables.

I said earlier how history was my one of the classes I struggled in, but when it hit WWII period I pretty much aced every quiz and test. The whole period was so much more interesting to me after I played CoD World at War (takes place during WWII of course). Even if it was mainly the zombies portion of the game that kept my attention. Some how all the lore behind it drew my attention in way more.
