I never even knew where that Harambe meme was from. xD Just saw it everywhere.

Yeah, it's not a pretty story. What happened behind it was a boy at the Cincinnati zoo sneaked his way into the gorilla pen and when the gorilla named "Harambe" grabbed him, the zoo keepers decided to shoot Harambe. It became a very controversial topic because you had one side that felt the boy wasn't in danger and then you had the blame game between the boy, the boy's mother, and the zookeepers. And then you had one batch of people that turned Harambe into a martyr in all the ridiculous ways you saw.
