The new ones still have qualities, though. Given, the older games were a bit better, but there was still a lot to enjoy about GTI and PSMD.

I still like the world setting of PMD1 though. I don't know what it is, but it has a lot of charm to it.

Hey I loved the setting of PMD1 too, but I loved PMD2 a bit better. Just the relaxing sound of the waves and a home in the cave of a boast! I loved that one! The setting with the bubbles that come from the Krabby at sunset is just absolutely perfect.

Yeah the new games, GTI and PSMD each had their own really neat qualities for sure. So I'm not downing them at all! Heck PSMD was a great improvement from GTI. Not perfect, but an improvement.

I really miss PMD2's system. I liked being able to recruit more than one of a single species, and being able to name them. Though I enjoyed PSMD, I don't like how they did the recruiting for that one.

I also haaaattted the feature where sometimes the pokemon would be 'busy' and you couldn't use them. What the heck? Why make that a feature? Just let people use the pokemon they want as much as they want.

Yeah, that was lame, but I guess that was because they didn't want you overusing them. Still, I think that's the player's choice.

Yeah I hated that too. Not being able to use whatever Pokémon you wanted when you wanted. It was stupid decision making I'd say. That and the one per species as you said. I've said it many of times before, but genders too. For those girls out there wanting to play the main character as a female are out of luck. All Pokémon are set as male. So you get to play as YOU as a male Pikachu. That'd be like telling you the game you play....imagine YOU turn into this. Then suddenly you notice you aren't actually YOU. Suddenly you're someone else entirely. I mean play as Pikachu and get the natural look, but you ladies out there don't.

Sure you could argue that takes away all the gender exclusive sets they used to have, but so? That made it fun to go back and want to try playing the game again one day as that Pokémon! Outside of that the scarfs/bandanas, IQ system, and even eggs made it totally fun! I miss all the old features that made it so great.

I agree it should be the player's choice. With Explorers of Sky, sometimes I'd just make a random pokemon team and have them go on a bunch of missions over and over, making up stories about them. The 'this pokemon is busy' thing ruins the fun of that.

I agree. It was more fun when I could do whatever I wanted with them. And have a team of 3 scythers if I wanted. YES, GENDERS. That was another thing. I wonder why they changed that - it worked with Sky just fine.

Same...I hope a new PMD game is more like the older ones, at least with those certain features. I loved making up characters for the pokemon I had and them having genders/differing between others of their species really helped with that.

@Scytherwolf yeah because of the removal of genders. The move "Attract" becomes pretty op as it works on anything it uses. Though if it's supposed to be more set to bring YOU. Well, that's the first thing we will need back. Genders so everyone can be themself. Yeah Sky and the previous games. Doesn't make sense why they'd remove it. It's just changing some text here and there and pretty much one main character design (female Pikachu) and it's a small change with the heart tail.

Totally! I'd say you should get the newest one, Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon. It's the next best in my own opinion.
