I LOVED the Matrix movies. Heck, those movies are the true source of where the "Neo" part in my name came from. Fifteen years ago (yikes, has it really been that long!?), I was a freak for those movies. XD

I don't want to spoil anything, especially since it sounds like you guys didn't watch the trilogy, but let's just say it ended in a way that didn't feel that satisfying. The fact a fourth is now on the horizon makes the situation interesting because now it can kind of redeem how the whole thing ended, as well as revisit the unique and interesting concepts and features that the trilogy presented.

I can say that watching the John Wick movies gives me vibes about the Matrix trilogy (especially considering Keanu Reeves has the starring role in both trilogies). Lots of gun play, underground societies, crazy stunts, and dark themes definitely brings back the memories.

Hm I might like it then? The main reason I've never watched them is that I haven't been as keen on like Fast & Furious or John Wick style movies lately and I've been told the Matrix is along the same style. Not that I have the time to watch it anyway. XD

The Matrix movies are WAY more sci-fi than Fast and Furious and John Wick. There may be some very loose similarities between the Matrix trilogy and John Wick, but there are definitely very major differences.

I'd say the first Matrix movie is worth watching for sure, and if you like that, you'll probably like what you get out of Reloaded and Revolutions in terms of the same kind of genre style. But yeah, give the first one a try. I've watched it probably like 20 times by now. XD

I didn't like the Fast and Furious movie when I was younger. Now though I love them. Always wanted one with Jason Stathom until one day he actually joined the movie series. Loved him in the Transporter movies. Made him out to be the most skilled driver you'd ever seen. Then you put his fighting into the mix with it? You couldn't beat him!

Put him in the Fast movies? Yeah they had no chance. The first impression you see from him when he shows up does just that. Shows how much of a threat he is. Man I love the Fast movies.

I'll have to check out the Matrix movies one day. Always kinda wanted to. Funny thing is, after seeing John Wick. I'll never be able to see Keanu differently. So seeing him as any other role (like Ted Theodore Loghan in his upcoming movie Bill and Ted 3) is gonna be SUCH a different role to see him in. If you haven't see the Bill and Ted movies. I highly recommend them.

Okay I'll agree on that. Jason Statham is a thing of beauty in the F&F franchise. When my parents drag my to the theaters to watch these movies, his scenes are always the most enjoyable. Heck, my favorite scene in the whole franchise is him with the baby. You know what I'm talking about if you've seen the movies. And Hobbs and Shaw was really entertaining because he and the Rock play well off each other. He's got a good sense of humor I can get behind even if I'm not all gung ho about all the gun slinging that goes on in these types of films.

I mean is it just a bunch of guys like shooting at each other the whole movie because if so I'm probably not going to like it even with the change in genre.

Nah, there's a few scenes with that kind of thing, but there's a lot more to it. At some points it gets quite calm and deeply philosophical. Sometimes it gets strange and fantastical, other times dark and gritty. I feel like it has the right amount of everything to make it interesting and not feel too over the top in any specific area.

Plus yeah, soooo many memes came out of this movie, and plenty of them are even still used today.

So, I was thinking of doing a variant of a Scramble challenge, but as I won't be posting it it here as a log I can't really make a thread in the Challenges forum for it.
(The Scramble challenge is where you get 6 other people to each pick a pokemon and you can only catch/use those six through the whole game. Mine would be a Nuzlocke as well, with 4 more pokemon as reserves for any deaths that occur.)

Where would the best thread to ask for pokemon for it be? I though maybe the Nuzlocke Ideas & Disc. thread, but I'm not sure if anyone would notice it there...

You could post it there, but also mention people to see if they can suggest Pokémon for you, first come first serve.

I'm sure you know exactly who you're getting if you mention me!

I legitimately forgot that mentioning people was a thing. XD Yeah, that would work.
